HE IS THE CONSUMING FIRE

LAMENTATIONS 2:1-10.

GOLDEN VERSE: "For our God is a consuming fire" - Hebrews 12:29.

Jeremiah recorded the anger of God against Israel for He threw her down from heaven to earth, not pitying her instead brought her to dishonour and burnt her with fire as an enemy would consume everything around her, destroyed her palaces, strongholds, leaving her in mourning and lamentation, to the point she forget her special feasts and sabbaths for God have rejected her sanctuary and altars, handing her over to her enemies and taken them into exile so the elders sat in silence with dust and ashes.

God is described as a consuming fire (deut 4: 24).

God will never condone sin among His people if they refuse to repent, He sends judgment, regardless of your position or rank.

God shows no favouritism in His relationship with man. (Acts 10:34).

Well, God has a standard and He would never go contrary to the standard because of one individual.

He uses the same standard for all those who come before Him and expects everyone to conform to His commands.

God had regarded David as a man after His own heart (Acts 13:22) and one would think that should be enough for God to look the other way when David killed Uriah.

But, NO! God being a consuming fire showed up in His fury to David, a man whom God loved, and proclaimed His verdict for his sins (2 Samuel 12:7-12). David was practically told that his dominion and kingship would nearly be consumed because of his sins - God is no respecter of anybody who fall short of His Standard.

God's fire always goes before Him to consume any enemy and the greatest enemy of God is sin.

Korah, Dathan and Abiram with their company of 250men were consumed by the fire from God in their rebellion against Moses the servant of God. Numb 16: 35)..

Do you also demonstrate over-familiarity with God, and feel that you can get away with just any behaviour or conduct?

The Lord does not joke with His standards neither does He pamper anyone and allow them to carry on in sin.

Remember also the story of Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5 who thought that they could get away with lies, after all they were already counted as part of the disciples, but do you see their end?

They were consumed immediately.

Anyone who continues to dwell in sin and would not repent will one day face the consuming fire of God, in a fire that burns forever.

Isa 33:14 The sinners in Zion are terrified; trembling grips the godless: "Who of us can dwell with the consuming fire?

Who of us can dwell with everlasting burning?" NIV

Beloved, time of grace is now, do not live carelessly.

Do a self- examination of your faith (2 Cor. 13:5), and make the necessary restitution and repentance.

PRAYER: Dear Father, I repent of my sinful life style, and help me live rightly according to your standard in Jesus Christ Name. Amen.

HE LOADS YOU DAILY.

PSALM 68: 19.

GOLDEN VERSE: "Praise be to the Lord, to God our Saviour, who daily bears our burdens" - Psalms 68:19.

A few years back, I recall that my wife travelled up north for work; she was concerned about her inability to speak the basic language of the northerners majorly because the work she was doing involved dealing with a lot of them.

She soon realized that without help, it was going to be difficult working at the pace she wanted to work and so she chose to seek God's help.

To say that God came through for her would not correctly describe the extent to which God was at work on her behalf during the time she stayed there.

God arranged people and positioned support across their path on a daily basis to make their work go easily and much more seamless despite their inability to yield when He communicates with them.

A burden can be a onerous or difficult concern or a weight of load.

The Psalmist reminds us today that God deserves all praise because every day on our behalf, He goes to work.

He lifts us up in His hands daily and carries us across all the challenges that we across.

God is your Burden Bearer, He carries you, automatically carried your burden?

It doesn't even end there, because He then loads you up with all the benefits you need for good health, journey mercies, divine protection and provisions.

God is able to make all grace abound to you every day, so that in all things you will abound (2 Cor. 9:8).

It is His will that all goes well with you every day, including today so all you need is to cast your burdens upon Him.

Ps 55:22 Cast your burden on the LORD, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. NKJV

This same God have carried you in His arms from the time you parents conceived you and He is faithful to carry you even to old age until you return back home to Him in Heaven.

Isa 46:4 Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you.NKJV

You can surrender burden of sin to God.

Jesus died to carry the sin of mankind.

You can bring your burden of depression, anxiety, fears and cares to Him.

Have you surrendered all to Him?

Your life, family, bsuisness, career, eduaction, challenges, successes, etc.

He's got the whole world in His hands, and so He can bear all your burden too.

PRAYER: Dear Father, I Praise you with my whole heart, and I cast all of my burdens on You. Load me with the benefits I needfor today in Jesus Christ Name. Amen.

THE WAY MAKER.

ISAIAH 43: 18 -19.

GOLDEN VERSE: "See, I am doing a new thing! Now, it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland" -Isaiah 43:19.

In this age of technology, most people don't have much difficulty with moving around in unfamiliar territory anymore simply because there is Google Map to lead them.

This app makes it easy for anyone trying to locate an address to do so without asking for directions from others people in the area.

Despite the many advantages of this app, it has also been known to fail in some instances such as identifying the best route with less traffic per time.

People have been misled to travel on traffic laden roads by this app.

God Almighty is The Way Maker, who not only shows the way, but also has the capacity to make a way.

He made a way for Israel in the red sea. (Ex 14: 16, 22).

God led Israel through the wilderness journey for 40years by a pillar of cloud by day and pillar of fire by night.

Jesus in response to Thomas said, I am the WAY.

John 14:5-6 Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?" 6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. NKJV

Whatever your challenges, God is able to create a way out for you to advance and succeed, open doors and new opportunities, breakthrough even when all seem impossible because He is the WAY and is able to make a way in the wilderness, rivers, anywhere.

You must forget the past challenges, whether your past failures or even successes and allow God do the impossible for you.

You have a responsibility to ask for the way.

The Holy Spirit of God show the way, telling you when to go to the right and when to go to the left.

He wants you to walk the way of righteousness for life.

Prov 12:28 In the way of righteousness is life, And in its pathway there is no death. NKJV

Even your way in life seem crooked and tough, God is able to give you a new beginning if you will trust Him and give Him a chance in your life, business, family, career, academics, etc.

Cry out to Him as you trust Him.

Isa 45:2 'I will go before you And make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze And cut the bars of iron. NKJV

PRAYER: Dear Father, You are the One who knows the way and who can show me the way that I should tread. I ask that You lead, and guide me to follow You to enjoy the new opportunities that You bring my way in Jesus Christ Name. Amen.

BREAD OF LIFE.

JOHN 6: 22 - 40.

GOLDEN VERSE: "Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty" -John 6:35.

Bread is associated with life, health, nourishment, and prosperity, we have seen that bread goes back in time as far as the very Garden of Eden itself.

It is common to the richest and poorest alike. It transcends cultures and nations.

As a staple food it often symbolizes all that we need on a daily basis to have and in keeping the physical body alive, it therefore becomes a daily need that every man (spiritual or carnal) seek after irrespective of their status.

Jesus fed 5000 men with Sloaves of bread and 2fish with 12 baskets of left over (Jn 6: 10-13).

The crowds followed Jesus not because of His words or His miracles but because they were freely fed to their fill.

The natural man cares only about the temporal, not the eternal; cares about a full belly, not a clean heart.

Later in His ministry Jesus told the people He was the bread of life and He only gives life.

John 6:35-36 And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. NKJV

Jesus is the heavenly bread that every man needs for eternal life.

We are to seek to have and eat this bread, which is spiritual to satisfy our spirit and soul.

You can daily eat this bread in the word of God, as you read, study and meditate on God's word.

Some christian would feed their physical bodies 3 hot delicious meal daily and feed their spirit and soul one cold meal meal once a week and expect to stay healthy.

When Jesus told the hungry crowds that He is the Bread of Life, He was teaching His followers that in Him alone was their true source of spiritual life, both in this present world and in the everlasting life to come.

The Bread of Life that Jesus represents never perishes, spoils, or runs out. Jesus Christ is the Bread of Life.

You either have His life or you do not.

You must learn to feed on Him and His word at least 2times daily, morning and evening if you want to have good success and prosper (Josh 1: 8).

When you come into unity with the Lord and experience His grace you become filled and have more than enough to Bread for sustenance and to excel.

Do not pursue the physical bread only, but seek God first and He has promised to take care of your daily needs, food, clothing, shelter, education, family, ministry, etc.

Matt 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. NKJV

There is labour that is for food/ bread only, and there is a labour that is to believe and have the life of Christ, Jesus the bread of life.

John 6:27 Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him." NKJV

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I seek you wholeheartedly to receive the bread of Life that never perishes in Jesus Christ Name. Amen.
