“Never Look Down on Anyone” — AY Shares Asake’s 2019 DM Asking for Help

Nigerian comedian and actor AY Makun has shared a throwback that is getting people talking.

After attending Asake’s sold-out concert at the Toyota Center in Houston, AY revealed that the Afrobeats star had sent him a DM back in 2019, years before Asake became one of Nigeria’s biggest music exports.

In the message, Asake introduced himself as “Ololade” and asked AY to support his music, telling him that even vibing to his song would mean a lot to his career.

AY said he didn’t see the message at the time, but looking at how far Asake has come today, the old DM carries a completely different meaning.

However, AY made it clear that he wasn’t sharing the story to take credit for Asake’s success. According to him, the glory belongs to God, Asake’s talent and the hard work he put into his career.

He then shared a powerful lesson:

“The person asking to be seen today may become the person the whole world will celebrate tomorrow. So be good to people, respect their dreams, never look down on anyone because you simply cannot tell what tomorrow brings.”

Interestingly, after the Houston concert, Asake’s management took AY backstage, where the singer personally came over to greet him.

From sending a DM asking for support in 2019 to selling out major venues years later — Asake’s journey is definitely one worth remembering.

Burna Boy has shared a side of Wizkid that many people may never have seen, especially those who only know the singer through what they hear online. 👀

According to Burna Boy, Wizkid was already a big name in Lagos when he arrived from Port Harcourt, and Wizkid was one of the first people to embrace him when he moved to the city.

The two artists were once very close, and Burna Boy has described Wizkid as a brother who played an important role in both his career and his personal life.

Burna Boy reportedly explained that whenever he hears people claim that “Wizkid doesn’t help people,” he simply laughs because, according to him, Wizkid does a lot behind the scenes without seeking public recognition.

Wizkid’s son, Champion, has responded to Ochacho’s son, Ice King, making it clear that he sees no competition between them blc he feel IceKing is not talented enough.
