Graduate Honors Former Zamfara First Lady, Inspires Women Writers with New Book”
Zamfara State, Nigeria – Aisha Abdulmajid Samaho, a graduate of English and Literary Studies from Al-Qalam University, Katsina, is using her literary skills to inspire women writers in Zamfara State while celebrating the legacy of Hajia Asmau AbdulAziz Yari, former First Lady of Zamfara State.
In her newly published book, ”A Chapter of Excellence,” Aisha highlights Hajia Asmau Yari’s transformative contributions to education, healthcare, and women’s empowerment during her tenure.
The non-political book focuses on Yari’s groundbreaking initiatives, such as promoting girls’ education, supporting orphans, and empowering women through skills acquisition programs.
“I wanted to document her legacy to inspire others, especially women, to strive for excellence in their communities,” Aisha said.
As a young female writer, Aisha aims to encourage more women to share their stories. “Literature is a powerful tool for change,” she explained.
“By writing about Her Excellency’s achievements, I hope to show that women can use their voices to make a difference.”
Her Initiative is gaining traction in Zamfara, where she engages with young women to promote literacy and storytelling.
“Many women have stories to tell but lack the confidence or platform to share them,” she said. “I want to help change that.”
“A Chapter of Excellence” is not just a tribute to Hajia Asmau Yari’s legacy but also a call to action for women to embrace their potential and contribute to societal development.
