*Government Girls' Technical and Commercial College, Charanchi Celebrates Inaugural Speech and Prize Giving Day and Qur'anic Graduation Ceremony*
Yesterday, July 30th, 2024, marked a historic day for Government Girls' Technical and Commercial College, Charanchi (GGTCC Charanchi), as the institution hosted its maiden Speech and Prize Giving Day and Qur'anic Graduation Ceremony. The event was graced by Her Excellency, Hajiya Fatima Dikko Radda, Wife of the Executive Governor of Katsina State, and other distinguished guests.
The ceremony aimed to celebrate the school's remarkable achievements during the 2023/2024 academic session, honor students, staff, and stakeholders, and create a lasting legacy. The presence of prominent women, including Hajiya Fatima Dikko Radda, Hajiya Zainab Musa Musawa, and Hajiya Karima Abdulkarim, served as a source of inspiration for the students.
The event was expertly anchored by Aliyu Nasir Kankara, Public Relations Officer of the Katsina State Science and Technical Education Board, who ensured a seamless and engaging program.
In his opening remarks, the Executive Secretary of Katsina State Science and Technical Education Board expressed gratitude to the Charanchi community for their unwavering support. He also thanked His Excellency, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, PhD, for his commitment to quality education in the state.
College Principal, Hajiya Zainab A. Muhammad highlighted the school's achievements and requested additional support from the government, particularly in trade workshops, transportation, staff quarters, and resources.
The students of GGTCC Charanchi showcased their talents with an inciting drama, a thought-provoking speech, and a spectacular dance, entertaining and enlightening the audience. Their performances demonstrated their creativity, confidence, and skills, making the event even more memorable.
Hajiya Hasiya M. Nassarawa, former Principal of the College, congratulated the students on their achievements and encouraged them to always invoke the fear of God in all their undertakings. Her words of wisdom and guidance resonated with the students and guests alike.
In response, Her Excellency, Hajiya Fatima Dikko Radda, donated ₦1,000,000 to the college and pledged her support in addressing the school's transportation needs. She also assured the college of conveying their requests to the Executive Governor.
Other dignitaries, including the Honourable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Hajiya Zainab Musa Musawa, and CP Rabi'u Ladodo, rtd., offered congratulatory messages, words of wisdom, and appreciation for the support received.
The Chairman, Principals' Forum for the Schools and Colleges under the Board, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the current administration under the able leadership of Malam Dikko Umar Radda for the overwhelming attention and unwavering support they have received. He noted that this support has yielded the desired results and praised the administration's commitment to education.
Notable community leaders and elders played significant roles in making the event a success. Honourable Lawal Isah Kuraye, Member representing Charanchi Constituency in Katsina State House of Assembly, served as the Chairman of the Occasion. Honourable Ibrahim Sani Koda, Executive Chairman of Charanchi Local Government Council, co-hosted the event. Alhaji Abashe Abdulƙadir, Sarkin Shanun Katsina, District Head of Charanchi, and Royal Father of the Day, brought his wealth of experience and wisdom to the ceremony. Sarkin Kurayen Katsina, District Head of Kuraye (represented by Alhaji Isah Sama'ila), added his valuable insights and support to the event.
These community leaders and elders encouraged the students, especially the graduands, to build on the good habits, skills, and knowledge acquired in the college. They also expressed gratitude to the high-calibre personalities present and praised the students, teachers, and guests for their outstanding contributions.
