The Katsina State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has warned teachers who collected tablet devices but are not teaching science-related subjects in their schools to return them or face necessary disciplinary action.
The Executive Chairman of the Board, Dr. Kabir Magaji Gafiya, made the warning while inspecting the ongoing tablet-based teacher training, conducted at the Katsina Local Government Area.
Dr. Gafiya expressed concern that, some participants who are not qualified to receive the devices were found in possession of them, hence assured that the Board would take all necessary measures to deal with anyone found guilty of such misconduct.
According to him, only teachers handling science Core subjects including English, Mathematics, Basic Science, and Computer Studies in their respective schools are eligible to retain the devices.
He added that, the State Government, under the leadership of Governor Malam Dikko Umar Radda, is working tirelessly to ensure that every teacher receives a tablet device, aimed at upgrading teaching standards, integrating technology into the classroom, and preparing both teachers and pupils to compete globally.
Kabir Magaji also, urged participants to take the training seriously and make effective use of the knowledge and tools provided, to enhance teaching and learning environment across the State.
