Katsina State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening synergy and collaboration with private schools and other educational partners to secure a brighter future for the younger generation in the state and the world at large.
The Executive Chairman of the Board, Dr. Kabir Magaji, made this known during an interactive meeting with private school proprietors, stakeholders, and desk officers from the 34 Local Government Education Authorities (LGEAs) on the 2025/2026 annual renewal and verification exercise for private and community schools in Katsina State.
The SUBEB Chairman, who was represented by the Director of Academic Services, Alhaji Bishir Ahmad, emphasized that the meeting was aimed at identifying the challenges affecting private schools, particularly in terms of compliance with government policies and revenue generation, with a view to finding lasting solutions.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Katsina State Chapter, Comrade Mansur Jibia, commended the efforts of Katsina SUBEB and assured the Board of maximum cooperation and support towards achieving all the objectives of the exercise.
Earlier, the SUBEB Desk Officer for Private and Community Nursery and Primary Schools, Malam Isma'il A. Mas'ud, spoke extensively on the operational guidelines for private and community nursery and primary schools, as well as the forthcoming 2025/2026 renewal and verification exercise across the three senatorial zones of the state.
According to him, the exercise will commence from Monday, 15th June to Sunday, 21st June 2026, at the Funtua LGEA Headquarters for schools in Funtua, Danja, Faskari, Sabuwa, Ɗandume, Bakori, Malumfashi, Musawa, and Matazu Local Government Areas.
He added that, in the Daura Zone, the exercise will be conducted at the Daura LGEA Headquarters for schools in Daura, Mai'adua, Sandamu, Mashi, Ingawa, Dutsi, Baure, and Zango Local Government Areas.
Similarly, in the Katsina Zone, the exercise will take place at Ahmadu Coomassie Primary School, Kayalwa, Katsina, for schools in Katsina, Mani, Kusada, Batagarawa, Kurfi, Batsari, Kaita, Jibia, Rimi, Dutsin-Ma, Safana, and Dan Musa Local Government Areas.
The exercise is scheduled to hold daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. throughout the exercise period.
