FUND-RAISING AND DECISION-MAKING: THE
INEVITABLE CHALLENGES IN LEADERSHIP.

Fund-raising and decision-making are the most greatest and significant challenges in public administration. Your ability to overcome this two major challenges in leadership makes you a great and effective leader, and would eventually build you up to lead in any platform in the world, Yes-You-Can!

Fund-raising is trivial and can be overcome with adequate or witful financial management. corruption should be eliminated entirely, sincerity, accountability and transparency is key.

Fund-raising maybe frivolous to countries, states, councils, union's, associations, clubs and other institutions that has good source of funding. but difficult to some NGOs with no source of income.

Fund-raising is a critical challenge for a leader who's leading in a platform that has little or no source of funding.

I am a living proof of the aforementioned statement, leading in Kokori Students' Union, KOSU back then in (2018-2020) was so interesting, complex and yet building you up for a higher roles and responsibilities. No source of funding to carry-out your designed programs.

Sincerely speaking, I am grateful to Jehovah because we were able to overcome this with vast support from family, friends and some senior comrades who has immense love for our activeness.

Dr. Goodluck Jonathan Ebele in his book tittled: 'My Transition Hours'. He used his pen judiciously and dedicated chapter 3 and 4 to decision points and more decision points respectively.

In overcoming decisions making, Goodluck Jonathan posited that; “I have come to launch a campaign of ideas, not one of calumny. I have come to preach love not hate. i have come to break you away from divisive tendencies of the past which has slowed down our drive to nationhood".

He faced alots of pressures on decision making from the North, East, South and Western part of the country. He didn't write much about financial challenge, because Nigeria is blessed with humongous natural resources. Too much corruption~ making the system so complex for her citizens.

Someone may asked~ how can I overcome this challenges? Undoubtedly, As a leader, you'll face fund-raising and decisions making challenges in any social platforms anywhere in the world.

It's could be in government (politics), churches, private firms, school's, hospitals, trade-unions, even in your own personal enterprise and so much more.

It is essential to note here that, by overcoming challenges, leaders demonstrate their ability to solve and manage difficult situations. Although leadership challenges can be difficult, they are also an important part of the role.

The undermentiond steps encompasses the routes to follow in overcoming funds-raising + decisions-making in public administration {Leadership}.

1. Not giving up
2. Determining the uniqueness of your ideas: be innovative and think out of the box.
3. Starting a crowdfunding campaign on crowdfunding platforms.
4. Identify the “who” and “why” while making decisions.
5. Seeking support from family, friends and mentors.
6. Evaluate the outcome: is the decision beneficial to you and others? or only you? or just others alone?
7. Managing your resources
8. Be proactive and collaborate with others to depreciate your budgets.
9. prayer and
10. persistence prayers.

Chief Ejeromedoghene hails from the oil rich Kokori Community, a sub-clan in Agbon Kingdom, Ethiope East Local Government Area, Delta State.

Maternally, he hails from Awirhe-Community in Agbarha Kingdom, Ughelli North LGA, Delta State.

Immediate Past National President of Kokori Students Union, KOSU.

He bagged B.Sc in Pharmacology from the prestigious Delta State University, Abraka.

He's a corp's member {NYSC}, currently serving in Kubwa General Hospital, Fct-Abuja as a Pharmacologist in the Hospital Pharmacy Unit.

He's a writer, young politician, business man, graphic designer and has vast love for egalitarian society.

*THE IMPACT OF KOKORI TRADITIONAL RULERS, RELIGIOUS LEADERS AND POLITICAL ELITES IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF KOKORI COMMUNITY: A CALL FOR RE-CONCILIATION, RE-ORGANIZATION, AND RE-ORIENTATION*

During conflicts resolution, preaching *peace* is one of the key factor used in shunning the crisis, thereby promoting development in a community... {Re-concilliation}. When group of person's have one mind for a particular new course it's increase the level of *peace* {Re-organization} and these would come to play when the group are been inculcated about the significants of *peace.* {Re-Orientation}

*RE-CONCILLIATION:* reconciliation is the re-establishment of friendly relations; conciliation, rapprochement. For development to thrive and flourish in our dear community (Kokori), all broken friendships and cordial relationship between the political class, traditional rulers, religious leaders and of course the youths (young men and women) must be united in action for an egalitarian society.

We should also know that, we were brothers and sisters before we joined our political parties. It is high time we live together as one (bothers and sisters) or perish together as fools.

*RE-ORGANIZAZION:* It is the action or process of changing the way in which something is organized. Some of the pattern we used in governing Kokori Community are unethical and unprofessional which demands restructuring and re-organizing in order for us all to get a better result. As a young leading leader, In my own little knowledge in order to improve on something one must set-up some lines of action to take and he/she must be proactive.

And reorganization is a significant and disruptive overhaul of a troubled community {underdeveloped community} intended to restore it to meaningful growth and development. It may include shutting down or cancelling divisions, replacing management, cutting budgets, and laying off unfaithful appointed representatives, giving more privileges to student's union and youth councils to take active participation in community policy and so much more.

One of the best way to reorganize the ruling or leading and governing system in Kokori community is to disband some units or committees and associations which has no value. {Insignificant unions}.

*RE-ORIENTATION:* In my limited understanding and experience in both real life and in the university ~orientation is a unique key that's capable of unlocking hidden ideas for self development, group growth and Community transformation. The Okarho palace is a complex one {needs re-orientation}.

Re-orientation is the act of changing direction or the familiarization with something new. Kokori community would be great if the educated ones (the informed) gives moral counsel and re-orientation to the uneducated ones {the less informed}. Reorientation is the act of figuring out again where you are in relationship to your environment, or changing direction.

by 2030 due to rapid agitation for leadership position just as we observed recently in some political parties primary elections in Nigeria. Research is showing that there is a growing shift is underway in our thinking about skills and knowledge – from a qualification lasting a lifetime to needing to retrain for new skills every few years, move roles and occupations, and continually update soft (digital) skills in areas like collaboration, critical thinking and complex problem-solving.

Honestly speaking, quickly adapting to new roles, environments and contexts is not a new thing. However, the need for more people to do so, and more regularly, is enlightening our leaders and rulers to understand the art of ‘Reorientation’ and then navigate their own reorientation with the new leadership skills necessary to do so, regularly, is now key.

*Conclusively,* the political elites alone can't transform or build the society of our dream, neither the traditional rulers nor the religious leaders.

We should also try as much as possible to reconcile whenever there's misunderstanding, then reorganize ourselves with new leadership skills, thereafter re-orient the less informed one's in our community.

The bitter truth is that, if truly we want an egalitarian society that's super-saturated or satieted with magnificent {elegant} and edifices infrastructures, well paying jobs and novel skills acquisition, then, it is our sole responsibilities to do so via collective efforts.

The students and youths also have a unique and essential role to play as well, *this would be published in my next article.*
