President Tinubu Railway Revolution: Building Tracks for Nigeria’s Future ❤️ ✊👇

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has once again demonstrated his visionary leadership by setting the railway sector at the heart of Nigeria’s development agenda.

At the 2nd International Railway Conference and Expo in Abuja, the President represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transforming Nigeria’s transport infrastructure into a catalyst for economic growth, regional integration, and population management.

With the theme “Opportunities and Challenges in Railway Development in Africa: A Call for Investment”, the conference provided the perfect stage for Nigeria to showcase its ambitious plans under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

President Tinubu reminded participants that the railway has historically been the backbone of industrial revolutions across the globe from the United States and Russia to modern China and Vietnam. Today, Nigeria, with a fast-growing population projected to reach 440 million by 2050, cannot afford to be left behind.

“The size of our economy and the scale of our population demand an efficient, modern railway system,” he declared, stressing that railways are more than transportation they are engines of industrialization, connecting farms to markets, workers to jobs, and cities to ports.

Renewed Hope in Action:

Under the Tinubu administration, railway modernization projects have moved at unprecedented speed:

1. Kano–Maradi rail line jumped from 5% completion at the start of this government to 60% completion today.

2. Kaduna–Kano modernization project accelerated from 15% to 53%, with commissioning slated for December 2026.

3. Rehabilitation of the Lagos–Kano Narrow Gauge now enables freight movement from seaports to the Dala Inland Dry Port.

4. Light rail projects in Kaduna, Kano, and Ogun have received federal support.

5. The Abuja–Kaduna corridor introduced dual fuel locomotive technology, enhancing cost-effe
