BARR. INNOCENT LAGI: THE REAL INTRUDERS ARE POLITICIANS USING TRIBE TO DECEIVE THE PEOPLE

Barr. Innocent Lagi’s recent comments about “intruders” deciding the political future of Nasarawa State are disgraceful, reckless, and completely beneath the expectations of a modern democratic society.
At a time when serious societies are discussing economic growth, industrialization, education, infrastructure, security, and employment, some failed political actors are still roaming from podium to podium preaching dangerous tribal sentiments like desperate merchants of division.
This is exactly the kind of backward politics that has kept many communities underdeveloped for decades.
Whenever certain politicians have nothing meaningful to offer the people, they suddenly remember tribe.
Whenever elections approach and they cannot campaign with projects, performance, or ideas, they resort to ethnic blackmail and emotional manipulation.
The tragedy is that these same people shouting “intruders” today never complained when roads, investments, schools, appointments, industries, empowerment programs, and infrastructure entered their communities.
They enjoy the benefits of a united Nasarawa State, but suddenly become tribal gatekeepers once political ambition is involved.
Hypocrisy at its peak.
Who exactly is an intruder?
Is a man whose family has lived, invested, built relationships, paid taxes, created opportunities, and contributed to the development of Nasarawa State for generations an intruder?
Or are the real intruders politicians who contribute nothing except bitterness, division, and ethnic tension every election cycle?
The politics of “our own” has destroyed enough communities already.
Nasarawa people are wiser now.
Citizens are no longer interested in primitive tribal propaganda packaged by expired politicians seeking relevance.
Nobody owns Nasarawa North.
Nobody owns Nasarawa State.
Political offices are not ancestral inheritance handed over through tribal entitlement.
Leadership is earned through competence, vision, courage, and measurable impact — not through noise-making at ceremonies and emotional ethnic sermons.
The painful truth is that some politicians are terrified of open competition because they know they cannot survive politically where performance becomes the standard.
That is why they hide under tribe.
That is why they preach fear.
That is why they attempt to poison the minds of the people against fellow citizens.
But Nasarawa is bigger than tribal politics.
And 2027 must never be reduced to a dirty ethnic battle sponsored by desperate politicians who have already run out of relevance.
The future belongs to leaders with ideas, results, and capacity — not professional ethnic agitators masquerading as stakeholders.
Enough of the division.
Enough of the fearmongering.
Enough of the poisonous tribal politics.
