KWALLIYAR LAFIA VISITS BEREAVED FAMILIES IN LAFIA

Hajiya Rukaiiya Adamu, popularly known as Kwalliyar Lafia and wife of SDP governorship candidate Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, has visited the families of supporters who lost their lives in the tragic road accident of September 14 in Lafia.

She condoled with the bereaved families, prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased, and asked Almighty Allah to grant them Jannatul Firdaus and give their families the strength to bear the loss.

The families appreciated her for the personal visit and show of solidarity during their moment of grief.

GOVERNOR SULE DEPARTS ABUJA FOR 81ST UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY IN NEW YORK

Nasarawa State Governor and Chairman of the North Central Governors’ Forum, His Excellency Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, has departed the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, for New York, United States of America, where he is expected to join President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other Nigerian governors at the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

We sincerely extend our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the families, friends and supporters of retired IGP Mohammed Adamu who tragically lost their lives today in Lafia.

This is a moment for every political leader, party, candidate and supporter in Nasarawa State to pause and reflect. Behind every political banner is a human being, a family and a community. No political ambition should ever be greater than the value of human life.

We may belong to different political camps, support different candidates and hold different opinions about the future of our state, but we remain one people, bound by a common destiny and shared responsibility for the peace of Nasarawa State.

We therefore appeal to all political stakeholders to reject hatred, provocation, intimidation and division. Let us disagree politically without becoming enemies personally. Let us compete on ideas, records, programmes and capacity, while maintaining mutual respect and protecting one another.

As we journey towards 2027, let unity be stronger than our differences, peace stronger than our ambitions, and Nasarawa stronger than partisan politics.

Today, we mourn together. Tomorrow, we must work together to build a state where every citizen can participate in politics without fear.

May Almighty Allah forgive the departed, grant them Aljannatul Firdaus, and give their families the strength to bear this painful and irreparable loss.

Eggon Gets a Voice in Nasarawa State’s 2027 Leadership Equation

The political landscape of Nasarawa State is taking a significant turn ahead of the 2027 governorship election, following the emergence of Hon. Michael Emmanuel Ombugadu as the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Abdullahi A. Sule presided over a meeting of selected APC stakeholders in Asokoro, Abuja, on Monday, where Ombugadu was announced as running mate to the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu.

The choice has generated considerable political significance, particularly for the Eggon people, who now have a prominent voice on the APC governorship ticket.

Ombugadu brings to the ticket not only his political experience but also a strong connection to communities in Nasarawa State where questions of inclusion, representation and political balance remain important considerations.

His emergence alongside Wadada presents a ticket that could broaden the APC’s political reach across the state, bringing together different constituencies under a common platform ahead of 2027.

For the Eggon people, the development represents more than the emergence of a deputy governorship candidate. It is being viewed as an opportunity for the community to have a stronger voice in the affairs of the state and a direct stake in the political direction of Nasarawa State.

The development also reinforces the APC leadership’s efforts to build a broad-based political coalition around Senator Wadada, whose candidacy is expected to draw support across the three senatorial zones.

With Wadada providing the governorship leadership and Ombugadu joining the ticket as running mate, the APC has presented a combination that places inclusion, experience and political reach at the centre of its 2027 campaign strategy.

This is more than the unveiling of a running mate. It is the strengthening of a ticket built around competence, integrity, experience, inclusion and service to the people.

Chief Ombugadu brings to our ticket more than three decades of experience in administration, public finance and community service. From his professional beginnings at Ashaka Cement Plc, to his years at Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic, Lafia, and his distinguished service at the Nasarawa State Pension Bureau, where he rose to Director of Finance and Accounts, he has built a reputation for diligence, accountability and responsible stewardship.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Chief Ombugadu is a grassroots man. His political journey spans decades, marked by resilience, loyalty and commitment to his people. His decision to put party and collective interest above personal ambition during the recent political processes further demonstrates the character and maturity he brings to this ticket.
