A ROUND PEG IN A ROUND HOLE: Maku Is The Man For The Job

At a critical time like this, Nasarawa North deserves courageous, experienced, and people-centred representation like His Excellency, Mr Labaran Maku.

A man who has served with honour.
A man whose voice has consistently defended the people, protected the interests of indigenous communities, and spoken truth to power without fear.

Across Wamba, Akwanga, and Nasarawa Eggon, among every peace-loving resident of this zone, the call for experienced, inclusive, and purposeful leadership continues to grow stronger.

Labaran Maku (CON, OON) represents COMPETENCE, COURAGE, UNITY, and selfless service.

2026 is about giving Nasarawa North a strong voice that will be respected and reckoned with at the Red Chambers, not a bench-warmer or “Yes Sir” representative.

For God sake, who is advising Hon. Davematics David E Ombugadu? The young man's political moves are so so miscalculated of recent. Even some of us with little or no political experience know that, if he runs for Senate against Hon. Labaran maku and A.A Sule, he will lose.

Someone should tell him he is about to give A.A Sule a cheap ticket to the Senate against his own brother who gladly gave up his Governorship aspirations in the last election to support him. We know the role Labaran Maku played to enable Davematics secure the overwhelming support of the Eggon Nation in the last election.

What is even more pathetic to me now is that, he has no more chance in the Governorship race, thanks to his decision to join the APC that didn't go well with majority of his followers. His recent impromptu and self centered decisions have ruined his chances of getting the kind of overwhelming votes he got in the last Governorship election. He has shown himself to be selfish and an opportunist who can sell his people for a morsel of meal. He should know that majority of his voters are not fools.

Like I observed in my previous post about him, the day he decamped to the APC, I am not seeing him in both Senate and Governorship seat. Unless of course by the Mercies of God. His case is a clear case of a man who allowed his personal interest to override his people's rescue mission.

Late Senator Akwashiki Political Structure Backs Ombugadu for Nasarawa North Senatorial Bye-Election, June 20

The political structure of the late Senator Godiya Akwashiki has formally endorsed Rt. Hon. David Emmanuel Ombugadu as its preferred candidate for the Nasarawa North senatorial bye-election scheduled for June 20, 2026.

The endorsement was announced on Thursday, May 28, 2026, by the organisation’s leadership. The group cited Ombugadu’s track record and capacity to deliver effective representation for the people of Akwanga, Wamba, and Nassarawa Eggon local government areas.
