OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE STATEHOUSE

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who served as the President of Nigeria twice and as military head of state between January 1984 and August 1985.

President Muhammadu Buhari passed away in London at approximately 4:30 pm today, following a prolonged illness.

President Tinubu has expressed his condolences to Mrs. Aishat Buhari, the former President's widow, during a phone call.

Additionally, President Tinubu has instructed Vice President Kashim Shettima to travel to the United Kingdom and accompany the late President's body back to Nigeria.

In honor of the deceased leader, President Tinubu has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff.

Breaking News: Bandits Strike Lades Town, Patigi LGA in Kwara State.

A wave of fear has gripped Lades Town in Kwara North following a brazen bandit attack that saw over 10 cows carted away. Although no kidnappings nor human casualties were reported but the sporadic gunfire has sent residents fleeing for their lives.

The people of this region are in dire need of Kwara State Government support to tackle the insurgency that has plagued their land. Unfortunately, the expected aid has not been forthcoming, leaving the community vulnerable and desperate for relief.

The situation demands urgent attention from the government to ensure the safety and security of the people. Kwara North can't continue to withstand the emotional trauma caused by this bandits terrorizing our Communities. We keep on receiving messages of help is coming and we are waiting to no avail.
