Kwara North has waited patiently for its turn, and with the current term coming to an end, it is only fair to zone the governorship seat to the North in 2027. This is not just about politics; it is about recognizing the contributions and capabilities of our brothers and sisters from the North.

Let us be honest, Kwara Northerners have consistently proven their competence in various political appointments. From the corridors of power to the grassroots, they've shown exceptional leadership and dedication. It is time we give them the opportunity to lead the state as governors.

By zoning the seat to Kwara North, we are not only upholding our reputation as a harmonious state but also ensuring that our governance is inclusive and representative. Let us come together, support a capable candidate from Kwara North, and show the world what true harmony looks like.

Kwara North 2027: The Moment to End 28 Years of Exclusion and Unite Kwara for Shared Prosperity.

Since Nigeria’s return to democratic rule in 1999, Kwara North has never produced a governor, even though it contributes significantly to the state’s political stability, economic growth, and cultural heritage. This long‑standing exclusion has created a deep sense of marginalization, and the 2027 election offers a historic chance to correct it.

The Kwara North Agenda is about fairness and justice. Democracy thrives when every region has a sense of belonging and an equal chance to lead. Supporting Kwara North’s bid for governorship is not just about one zone—it strengthens the entire state by ensuring that no group feels sidelined. When equity is upheld, it builds trust, deepens unity, and creates a stronger foundation for development across all senatorial districts.

Kwara Central and Kwara South are urged to rally behind this movement, recognizing that a governor from Kwara North will bring fresh perspectives, inclusive policies, and balanced resource allocation. Infrastructure, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment can be expanded equitably, reaching every corner of the state. By standing with Kwara North, both Central zones demonstrate political maturity and a commitment to justice—values that will earn them respect and goodwill in return.

Moreover, supporting Kwara North’s governorship ambition will help stabilize Kwara’s political landscape, reduce tensions, foster cooperation among zones, and set a precedent for rotational leadership that strengthens democracy. This is a chance for Kwara State to model inclusive governance for the rest of Nigeria.

In conclusion, the Kwara North Agenda 2027 is not a selfish demand but a collective call for equity, unity, and progress. Kwara Central and Kwara South should see this as an opportunity to build a state where every citizen, regardless of origin, feels represented and valued. By supporting Kwara North, they are investing in a future of shared prosperity and lasting harmony.

A 7-year-old girl, Rukayya Muhammad, has tragically lost her eyesight permanently after her older brother, Auwalu Muhammad, allegedly removed both of her eyes as part of a money ritual in a desperate attempt to gain wealth. The incident occurred in Wailo town, located in the Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

According to their father, Auwalu lured his sister, who shares the same parents, into the bush, where he brutally attacked her and removed her eyes.

Rukayya was rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) in Bauchi for urgent medical care. Unfortunately, Dr. Shahir Umar Bello, an eye specialist at the hospital, confirmed that the young girl will never regain her vision for the rest of her life.

NIGER STATE BANS UNAUTHORIZED PREACHING, INTRODUCES LICENSING SYSTEM

The Niger State Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced a ban on all forms of preaching without prior approval from the government.

In a statement, the ministry disclosed that it has commenced the issuance of official permits to qualified preachers across the state as part of efforts to regulate religious activities and ensure compliance with laid-down guidelines.

The move, according to the ministry, is aimed at curbing unregulated preaching and promoting harmony among different religious groups.

Authorities urged religious leaders to obtain the necessary permits before engaging in public preaching, warning that violators will face sanctions.

TROOPS OF 22 ARMOURED BRIGADE NEUTRALISE ONE BANDIT ALONG LEMA - DABAN LEMA, RECOVER ONE AK-47, AMMUNITIONS AND ONE MOTORCYCLE

Troops of 22 Armoured Brigade deployed at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Patigi, in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State on fighting patrol within Gbugbu general area have continued to sustain pressure on criminal elements, recording a major success in the early hours of Wednesday, 3 September 2025.

At about 12:10 a.m, the vigilant troops following a credible human intelligence on movement of armed bandits along Lema - Daban Lema road in Edu LGA of Kwara State, conducted Ambush and subsequently made contact with the miscreants from the ambush site. In the exchange of fire that ensued, the soldiers overpowered the criminals with superior firepower, forcing them to withdraw in disarray.

During a subsequent exploitation along the bandits’ withdrawal route, the troops neutralised one bandit. Items recovered from the operation include one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 magazine loaded with 30 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and a motorcycle.

The remains of the neutralised bandits have since been handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action.

Commending the gallant troops, the Commander, 22 Armoured Brigade, Brigadier General Ezra Barkins, praised their vigilance, resilience, and doggedness urging them to continue to take the fight to the enemy. He reaffirmed the Brigade’s determination to intensify operations and employ all legitimate means to eradicate criminal elements while safeguarding the lives and property of law-abiding citizens within its joint operations area.
