URGENT APPEAL: ADDRESSING WATER QUALITY CRISIS IN KPADA, KWARA STATE.

The community of Kpada in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State is facing an urgent situation with the deteriorating condition of its primary water source. The declining water quality poses significant health risks to residents who rely on it for their daily drinking water needs.

We urgently seek intervention from relevant governmental or non-governmental organizations to address this critical issue and implement a sustainable solution to ensure the community's access to safe and clean drinking water.

The health and well-being of our community members are in jeopardy, and immediate action is essential to prevent further harm and potential health crises.

PHOTO NEWS: Emir of Lafiagi Hosts Federal Fire Service Representative for Official Launch of Donated Fire Service Van

In a notable event at Lafiagi command today, the Emir of Lafiagi, HRH Alh. Muhammad Kudu Kawu, graciously welcomed some representatives from the Federal Fire Service. The occasion marked the official launch or commissioning of a fire service van generously donated to the Lafiagi area office on this 19th of March, 2024.

The Controller General of the Federal Fire Service was unable to attend in person but was represented by the esteemed Zonal Commander, Controller Muhammad Ahmad Gana. The ceremony was a significant gesture of collaboration and support in enhancing fire safety and emergency response capabilities in the Lafiagi community.

Photo News: In a significant development for the town of Lafiagi, the Fire Fighting van sanctioned by the Federal Fire Service has arrived at its destination. Today, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Lafiagi, was seen conducting an inspection of the vehicle within the premises of the Emir's Palace.

The van will soon be transferred to the LADDU Secretariat, which will serve as a temporary office for the fire service operations in the area. This marks a crucial step forward in enhancing the firefighting capabilities and safety infrastructure of Lafiagi.

DEDICATION AND SERVICE OF MALL. BELLO YA MAIGARI (MAJIN KAKATI)

He was popularly referred to as Ya Mai-Gari, Mall. Bello was given his name in honor of the late 8th Emir of Lafiagi, who had the longest tenure as the palace trumpeter in the emirate's history.

After his final assignment in the Nigerian civil war, also known as the Biafra war, which concluded in 1970, Ya Mai-Gari, a brave commander who served in the Nigerian army and participated in many conflicts, retired to his rural home (Lafiagi).

After returning home, he was assigned as a security officer in charge of the Lafiagi water works where, for a few years, he used his knowledge of security intelligence to guard both material and human resources before opting to enter the royal service.

Mai-Gari had been a devoted and dedicated member of the royal crew since he joined in the early 90s. He always went above and beyond to make sure that the musical royal rhyme was running smoothly, supervising and coordinating trumpet blowing day and night.

He had been a loyal member of the royal staff and had participated in numerous significant ceremonies and events. His deft trumpet blowing had brought majesty and grandeur to each event that the royal household had planned.

Ya Mai-Gari was a true master of his play, and our Emirate took great satisfaction in his playing throughout all of the years he served.

Our sincere condolences goes to Ya Maigari's family ; may Allah pardon him for all his transgressions. We were fortunate to have him as he was a real asset to our Emirate.

قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ مَالِكَ الْمُلْكِ تُؤْتِي الْمُلْكَ مَنْ تَشَاءُ وَتَنْزِعُ الْمُلْكَ مِمَّنْ تَشَاءُ وَتُعِزُّ مَنْ تَشَاءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَنْ تَشَاءُ ۖ بِيَدِكَ الْخَيْرُ ۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Say: O Allah! Owner of Sovereignty! He gives sovereignty unto whom he will, and he withdraw sovereignty from whom he will. He exalt whom he will, and he abasest whom he will. In Thy hand is the good. Lo! Thou art Able to do all things.

FG DECLARES FRIDAY 21 & MONDAY 24 APRIL, 2023 PUBLIC HOLIDAY TO MARK EIDIL-FITR CELEBRATION

The Federal Government has declared Friday 21st and Monday 24th April 2023, as Public Holiday to mark this year's EIdil-Fitr Celebration.

The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government

According to reports, the Minister of Interior congratulates all Muslims for the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.

Ogbeni Aregbesola calls on all Muslims to imbibe and practice the virtues of kindness, love, tolerance, peace, self-denial, sacrifice and good nneighborliness as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him).

“The self-restrain, self-denial, sacrifice and deep spiritual consciousness that accompanied the fasting period should not end but be maintained and improved upon, in order to be a better person and true worshipper”, the minister advises all Muslims.

He assures that President Muhammadu Buhari is fully committed to peaceful transition of government following successful elections.

He also assures of the government's commitment to the provision of security for the life and property of every citizen and foreigners in the country.

The Minister commends all security agencies for the successes recorded in the fight against criminals across the country.

He urges Nigerians to be part of the nation’s security architecture by being vigilant and report suspicious individuals and activities to law enforcement agencies nearest to them, noting that security is everybody’s responsibility. He admonishes Nigerians also to report suspicious activities and persons to the N-Alert application.

Ogbeni Aregbesola wishes all Muslims a happy Eidil-Fitr celebration and prays that the peace, blessings and favour of Allah be with you all.

Governor AbdulRazaq's effort to further open up the for socio-economic growth yielded huge returns as the Federál Executive Coüñcil (FEC) graciously granted approvals to" the BUA Group for the rehabilitation of four major roads in Kwara State.

These are Kosubosu-Kaiama-Bode Saadu; Bacita-Shonga-Lafiagi; Eiyenkorin-Afon-0ffa-Odo 0ffin; and Okuta-Bukuro Road, which connects to the Benin Republic (32km).
