KWARA-BORN LAFIAGI'S GREATEST PHILANTHROPIST - ALH. KAWU BUHARI ( 1945 - 26th OCTOBER, 2012)
Kawu Buhari was born into the royal family of Abdulkadir household in Lafiagi, He's one of the Lafiagi iconic personalities with exemplary track record, whose contribution to the entire community cannot be do-away with. Mann Buhari as his widely known, believed that Leadership is about making others better as a result of your presence and making sure that impact lasts even in your absence.
During his lifetime, he strongly believed that a life not a lived for others is not a life. However, he was known to be charitable even after leaving the office, he was always concerned about children's education for he believed to be the best legacy of every children sustainability.
Every philanthropist have an undoubted believe that, the cause of aid to people comes with return from almighty, the reason why his loins are all successful individuals today working with Federal agencies of the country.
Today, One of his daughters is a top-level staff of Federal Government Girls College in Newbussa, another female working with National university commission, another son been an Inspector in the Nigeria police force and at the same time Aide de camp to Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service
BENEFICIARY OF HIS BENEVOLENCE
Many had been beneficiaries of his humanitarian benevolence, during his life, he facilitated many appointment in the Kwara State Teaching Service Commission, Civil Service Commission and the Nigeria Army. So true that "If you are working on something that you really care about, you don't have to be pushed", Mann Buhari was at everytime encouraged by his good heart to sponsor vulnerable indigents.
While the pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity, Mall. Buhari saw every situation as an opportunity to make amelioration towards education and human capital development, he was always positive that all his act will be favorable, as he stood to be benefactor of many indigents, he was neither betrayed nor disappointed as they all studied well to make sure Alh. Kawu Buhari’s act of volunteerism is greatly appreciated.
HIS DEATH
Until his death, he was a very proud father, teacher, and a community leader whose impact was felt in many areas of community development, meanwhile, the world itself is a mirage, when you have an opportunity like Kawu Buhari, just leave an imprint, and tomorrow will be history.
Alh. Kawu Buhari passed on during the eve of Eid'l Kabir celebration on Friday, 26th day of October, 2012, after a brief illness.
