Keeping Up With Mhiz Kaka — A glimpse of my day

Not every day needs to be interesting.
Some days are literally just wake up, eat, work, gist, scroll, do what needs to be done and somehow it’s night again. 😂

So here’s an ordinary day in my life in Lagos.

No big plans. No dramatic plot twist. Just me existing.

And honestly, ordinary days deserve to be documented too.

I went somewhere recently that I probably would never have gone to by myself.

Someone took me.

And it made me realize something:

There are places you will never get to simply because you don’t know the road yet.

Sometimes you need somebody to introduce you. Recommend you. Open the door. Hold your hand and say, “Come with me.”

Never underestimate the people who help you get into rooms you didn’t even know existed.

And when you become that person for somebody else, don’t forget what it meant when someone did it for you.

I don’t romanticise struggling.

I don’t think having a baby automatically makes poverty meaningful.

And I don’t think a child should be born with the responsibility of becoming the person who saves everybody.

Children deserve preparation, not just hope.
