THE LAST ELECTION

Your future self is proud of you

โ€œIf you were the Governor, what would you do?โ€ ๐Ÿค”

The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Debo Ogundoyin, says negotiating with terrorists could make the problem worse because every successful ransom deal may encourage more kidnappings.

But hereโ€™s the painful question many Nigerians are asking:

๐Ÿ’” If your child, wife, husband, brother, sister, or grandchild was among those kidnapped, would you still say โ€œdonโ€™t negotiateโ€?

On one side, paying ransom can strengthen criminal groups and encourage future attacks.

On the other side, innocent children and teachers are currently suffering while families live in fear and agony.

This is where leadership becomes difficult. Protecting lives is the first duty of government, yet making concessions to armed groups can create even bigger dangers for society.

๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ Nigerians, be honest:

If you were Governor today and terrorists demanded money to release innocent schoolchildren, would you negotiate to save lives, or refuse and risk the consequences?

๐Ÿ‘‡ Drop your answer in the comments:
A. Negotiate and bring them home alive
B. Never negotiate with terrorists
C. Use force to rescue them

๐Ÿšจ AI CRACKDOWN IN NIGERIA ๐Ÿšจ

The Nigeria Police have arrested a man accused of creating and spreading an AI-generated voice recording allegedly made to sound like President Tinubu.

According to reports, the audio was fake and was created using Artificial Intelligence before being attached to an existing video and circulated across social media.

This raises a serious question:

๐Ÿค” Should people who create and spread AI-generated fake audio of public figures face arrest and prosecution, or should it be treated as free speech and satire?

AI is becoming so powerful that many Nigerians can no longer tell the difference between what is real and what is fake.

Today it is a politician.
Tomorrow it could be a businessman.
The next day it could be an ordinary citizen.

Where should the law draw the line?

๐Ÿค” Hmmm... Nigerians are asking questions o!

The IGP's special task force reportedly tracked down and arrested a man accused of fabricating a fake voice recording allegedly linked to President Tinubu.

Now, while that's happening, many families are still praying and waiting for their loved ones to be rescued from kidnappers. ๐Ÿ’”

So the question on many lips is:

If suspects can be tracked and arrested so quickly, why does it seem so difficult to track down kidnappers hiding in forests and communities across the country?

This is not even about politics anymore. It's about the safety of ordinary Nigerians who leave home every day hoping to return alive.

What do you think is the biggest challenge in the fight against kidnapping in Nigeria? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ

๐Ÿšจ JUSTICE OR TOO LATE? โš–๏ธโ›ช

Four men have reportedly been sentenced to death for their role in the horrific attack on a Catholic church in Owo, Ondo State, that claimed the lives of dozens of innocent worshippers in 2022.

For many families who lost loved ones that day, no judgment can bring back the fathers, mothers, children, and friends who never returned home from church.

The Owo church attack remains one of the darkest moments in Nigeriaโ€™s recent history. Worshippers gathered in peace, only to face unimaginable violence.

While some Nigerians see the death sentence as justice finally being served, others believe the bigger question remains:

How do we stop these tragedies from happening in the first place?

A nation is not judged only by how it punishes criminals, but also by how well it protects innocent lives.

Do you believe the death sentence is the right punishment for those responsible for the Owo church attack?

๐Ÿšจ NIGERIANS ARE DYING, BUT WHO IS REALLY PROTECTING THEM? ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ

According to reports, while residents of Yashikira in Kwara State were under attack by terrorists, soldiers allegedly abandoned the community and relocated to a checkpoint where motorists were reportedly being charged โ‚ฆ100.

If true, this raises painful questions.

What is the purpose of security personnel if communities are left vulnerable when they need protection the most?

Imagine hearing gunshots in your village, watching families run for safety, and realizing that those meant to defend you are nowhere to be found.

This is not just about Yashikira.
It is about every Nigerian who travels the roads, sleeps with one eye open, and wonders whether help will come when danger strikes.

Citizens pay taxes.
Government budgets run into billions for security.
Yet many communities still feel abandoned.

The real victims are ordinary Nigerians โ€” the farmers, traders, students, mothers, and children caught in the middle of a crisis they did not create.

If these allegations are true, should officers who abandon communities during attacks face severe punishment?

Nigerians may soon pay more for petrol and cooking gas as fresh fuel price projections show another increase starting today, June 1, 2026.
According to the latest report from COMAC, petrol prices are expected to rise by 6.20%, while cooking gas (LPG) could increase by 2.24% due to rising global petroleum prices. Diesel, however, is expected to reduce slightly.
Many Nigerians are already reacting online as transport fares, food prices, and daily expenses may be affected again.
Some people say: โ€œEvery new month comes with fresh hardship.โ€ ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’”
Others believe the small drop in diesel price could still help businesses and transporters.
