BREAKING: VIO Operations Suspended in Plateau State as Govt Orders Transport Sector Reforms

The Plateau State Government has suspended the activities of the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO) in the state, following recent confrontations between its officials and transport operators in Jos.

The suspension, announced by the Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Davou Gyang Jatau, takes effect Monday, September 21, and is intended to provide room for an operational review and restructuring of the Directorate of Vehicle Inspection.

Meanwhile, what about Edo State? 👀

EDSTMA officials in Edo State also need to take note. The level of traffic enforcement and encounters with motorists is becoming a growing concern for some residents and road users.

Perhaps it is time for the Edo State Government to also review how traffic management and enforcement are being carried out, while ensuring that road safety is maintained.
