This picture is pure tension. Let’s give it the story it deserves 👇

*Six Inches and a Storm*
The rule was simple: we don’t talk anymore.
That rule died at 11:03 PM on Akin Adesola Street.
Lagos rain had been threatening all day. It chose the exact second I saw her to finally break open the sky. She stepped out of a cab, no umbrella, just that black coat and eyes that used to be my home.
I should have kept walking. She should have run inside.
Instead, we did this — stood in the middle of the road like the streetlights were spotlights and the storm was our audience.
Her hand found my jacket. Not a hug. Not a push. Just… holding on. Like if she let go, one of us would drown.
“You cut your hair,” she said.
That’s what she said. After 97 days of silence. After the last words I said to her were “I can’t do this.”
“Yeah,” I said. My voice was rougher than the thunder. “You changed your perfume.”
We were idiots. Talking about hair and perfume while water ran down our faces and we couldn’t tell if it was rain or not.
Her thumb brushed my chest, barely. An accident, maybe. My whole body forgot how to breathe.
“Timi,” she said, and my name in her mouth ruined me all over again. “Why are you here?”
I had three answers:
1. The truth: I walk this street every night hoping you’d appear.
2. The lie: Coincidence.
3. The risk: To find out if you still look at me like that.
I opened my mouth.
A car honked. She didn’t move. I didn’t move.
Six inches. That’s all that was left between “the end” and “again.”
The rain kept falling. And we kept standing. Because the moment one of us spoke, the spell would break.
And neither of us was ready for what came after.
