That person who needs your help today might just be your helper tomorrow. Let me share a personal experience to explain what I mean.

Two days ago, I took a Keke from Ago Palace Way to Okota Roundabout. Along the way, at century, a guy stopped the Keke rider and explained that he was heading to the roundabout but only had ₦100 with him. The Keke rider didn’t respond and was about to zoom off when I asked him to stop so the man could enter.

When we got to the roundabout, I told the guy not to worry about paying, and I settled the rider myself. From there, I needed to take another Keke to Jakande Gate, but there were lots of passengers and no Keke in sight. I stood there for about 10 minutes, frustrated, when suddenly a Toyota Highlander pulled up in front of me. The driver rolled down the window and asked me to hop in. To my surprise, it was the same guy whose fare I had paid earlier!

To cut the long story short, after some small talk, I found out that this guy wasn’t poor or broke at all. He was just stranded at that moment, and I happened to step in to help without him even asking. And here’s the twist; this guy insisted on rewarding my small act of generosity. Na ₦200 I pay for Keke o, but he requested my account details and transferred ₦20,000 to me so I could comfortably take a ride from pako where he dropped me because he was heading towards Isolo; even though I told him I was going to jakande gate.

This experience taught me a big lesson: never underestimate the value of helping someone, no matter how small the gesture may seem. You never know who you’re helping or how that kindness might come back to you. Sometimes, the people in need are just going through a rough moment, not because they’re helpless or incapable, but because life happens to everyone. And in that moment, you could be the lifeline they need.

In simple terms, don’t hesitate to lend a hand when you see someone in need. Whether it’s finance or just a kind word, your small act of kindness could open doors you didn’t even know existed. Life is funny like that; what goes around truly comes around.

Yesterday, someone reached out to me and asked me to send my account details. At first, I was skeptical because I didn’t recognize the contact. When I asked who the person was, they simply replied, “I am your friend on Facebook”; and sent a screenshot showing an attempt to transfer money, but the account details were incorrect.

Initially, I intentionally gave the wrong account details just to test if the person was serious or just messing around. I figured that if they were genuine, they would reach out again to say the details were incorrect; and that’s exactly what happened.

What amazes me about this situation, and why I feel the need to talk about it, is the true act of kindness exhibited by this person. Despite me mentioning that I didn’t know who they were, as soon as I resent the correct account details, I received an alert almost immediately. They didn’t ask for recognition or try to explain who they were further; they simply left it at, “I am your friend on Facebook.”

Whether it was a man or a woman, I still don’t know. But to me, this is what true kindness looks like; showing someone love without expecting anything in return, even when the person you’re showing love doesn’t know you.

This experience made me reflect on the nature of genuine acts of love and generosity. In a world where many people only show kindness for clout or validation, it’s refreshing to encounter someone who gives without strings attached. It’s not about fame or acknowledgment; it’s about the pure intention to help.

Such gestures remind us that there are still good-hearted people out there who don’t need to be seen or celebrated to do the right thing. For me, this was not just a blessing but also a lesson in selflessness and humility.

Again, whoever you are and wherever you are, if you can see this post, I pray that God's blessings and protection always abide with you; thank you once again.🙏

Stop forcing your way into people's lives, no matter how much you love them. If they need you in their lives, they'll make an effort to keep you around.😎

I was talking to a friend one day, and she mentioned that I wouldn't understand struggles with body imperfections because my body looks perfect. I just smiled and asked, 'Have you ever wondered why I don't always smile in pictures?' She asked why, and I replied, 'Why do you think Davido always flashes his teeth?' She said, 'Because he has a dazzling smile and diamond-studded teeth.' I smiled then, and she nodded in understanding,, seeing my set of teeth; adding, 'But your teeth aren't that bad.'

The truth is, I sometimes struggle with my teeth; it's one imperfection that bothers me. Although I know it can be corrected, but maybe I just don't have the resources yet.

Many people struggle with body confidence, fixating on perceived flaws. We might feel self-conscious about our teeth, skin, hair, or other features, leading us to hide rather than embracing our uniqueness. Perfection isn't the goal; self-acceptance and self-love are. And if we can focus on our strengths and celebrate our individuality, we can build confidence and radiate positivity.

Nobody is perfect; everyone has insecurities. So, Instead of comparing ourselves to others, let's focus on our strengths and accomplishments to build confidence and a positive self-image. Let's learn to love and accept ourselves, flaws and all, and celebrate our unique qualities.

Therefore, until I can address my teeth, henceforth, I'll own my smile, imperfections and all. Who knows, maybe I'll find someone to sponsor a smile makeover.😊
