PART 2 — “THE PRICE OF SUCCESS”
Jenny noticed the changes first.
The late-night calls.
The new female staff.
The expensive perfumes on Chike’s clothes.
But whenever she asked questions, Chike kissed her forehead and said:
“Baby, I’m doing all this for our future.”
Jenny believed him.
Because she loved him blindly.
Until one night…
Jenny decided to surprise Chike at his new apartment.
She bought his favorite peppered chicken and wine with her savings.
Her heart was full of excitement.
But the moment she opened the door with the spare key…
The food tray slipped from her hand.
CRASH!
There on the couch…
was Chike.
Half naked.
Kissing another woman passionately.
And not just any woman…
It was Vanessa.
Jenny’s own best friend.
Jenny froze.
Her heart shattered silently inside her chest.
Chike jumped up immediately.
“Jenny! Baby wait—it’s not what you think!”
Vanessa quickly covered herself.
But Jenny couldn’t hear anything anymore.
Tears rolled down her cheeks as she whispered:
“So this is the reward for loving you when you had nothing?”
Then she walked away.
Barefoot.
Broken.
Destroyed.
And that night…
for the first time in years…

❤️TWO LOVERS ❤️

PART 1 — “WHEN LOVE HAD NOTHING”
Jenny met Chike on a rainy evening at a small roadside buka in Lagos.
She was drenched from head to toe, struggling to protect the nylon bag carrying the only two dresses she owned. Chike noticed her immediately.
Not because she was the prettiest girl there…
But because even in poverty, Jenny carried herself like a queen.
“Madam, sit here before rain finishes you,” Chike said, shifting on the wooden bench.
Jenny smiled softly.
“Thank you.”
That smile changed Chike’s life forever.
At that time, Chike was only a struggling phone repairer managing a tiny kiosk under a bridge. Some days he ate. Some days he lied to hunger and drank only sachet water.
Jenny wasn’t better off.
She sold puff-puff in the mornings and worked nights at a small hair salon. Life dealt both of them the same cruel hand.
But somehow… they found happiness in each other.
Every evening after work, they sat by the roadside eating one plate of noodles together with two forks.
They dreamed together.
“One day I’ll open a big phone company,” Chike would say proudly.
Jenny laughed.
“And I’ll own the biggest beauty spa in Lagos.”
Then they would hold hands and laugh at dreams bigger than their pockets.
Love was sweet when there was nothing to lose.
Jenny stood beside Chike through everything.
When area boys stole his working tools… she sold her small gold chain to help him restart.
When his mother fell sick in the village… Jenny worked double shifts to send money.
When landlords embarrassed them for unpaid rent… they slept hungry together and still whispered “I love you” before sleeping.
Everyone envied their love.
People called them:
“The poor couple with rich love.”
Then suddenly…
Everything changed.
One afternoon, a rich businessman forgot an expensive iPhone at Chike’s kiosk.
Instead of stealing it, Chike tracked the man down and returned it.
The businessman was shocked.
“In this Lagos? You returned it?”
That single act changed Chike’s destiny.
Within months…
The man connected Chike to wealthy clients. Business exploded.
He moved from a roadside kiosk to a real shop. Then from one shop to three branches.
Money finally arrived.
And when money arrived…
Problems quietly entered with it.
