Nigeria’s non-oil exports have risen by 25.75 per cent to $1.79 billion in the first quarter of 2025 as sesame seed exports attract global market. The Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, Nonye Ayeni, disclosed this in an event for sesame seed farmers on Thursday.
Ayeni, representing Chika Sylvia, Chief Trade Promotion Officer of the council, said the increase represents 25.75 compared to 19.59 per cent for the first quarter of 2024. She noted that in 2024, sesame seed ranked number three out of the top 20 export products, amounting to 337.8258 metric tonnes with 4.63 per cent of the quantity exported.
