"I put up my car already for sale" Nollywood's Power Couple: Lateef Adedimeji and Mo Bimpe on 'Lisabi' Challenges

Nollywood power couple Lateef Adedimeji and Mo Bimpe have opened up about the struggles they faced while producing their latest Netflix movie, 'Lisabi'.

In an interview with City 105.1FM, the couple revealed three significant challenges they overcame to bring the film to life.

1. Financial Struggles: Lateef Put His Car Up for Sale

Lateef Adedimeji shared that the film's budget exceeded expectations, forcing him to consider selling his car to cover costs.

"We had a particular budget for this film and we had to spend like times 5 of it. It was tough. Extremely tough. At a point, I told my wife, but eventually, we didn't do it. I put up my car already for sale... I was able to get help from few people." - Lateef Adedimeji

1. Last-Minute Casting Changes: Mo Bimpe Steps In

Mo Bimpe wasn't initially cast as the lead actress but took on the role when the original actress became unavailable.

"When they came to me with 'you have to take the female lead role,' I was like 'ah ah, we already have an actor for that, why are you asking me to play the role?'... I wasn't prepared for it. For a movie like this, you have to prepare for it, and I was just there as a producer and manager." - Mo Bimpe

1. High Production Costs: A 5 Million Naira Pool

Lateef Adedimeji cited the example of building a pool for a single scene, which cost 5 million naira.

"My director is a very creative person. We didn't have the idea of a pool before in the film; he just came up with it, and then we had to build a pool... Just for that scene alone, just for that scene to go." - Lateef Adedimeji

When you see a good house that has not been occupied for some time,

β€” Don't rent it.

There is a reason why tenants avoid it.

β€’ It could be due to security issues.

β€’ It could be due to broken water supply.

β€’ It could be due to a messy sewarage system.

Don't think you will be successful where another tenant failed.

Don't rent it.

Think deeper before renting any place this time around!!

πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£?😭A handsome man went into a hotel and asked to see the boss. When the boss came, the story began.

-The client: is room 39 empty?
-The boss: yes, sir.
-The client: can I book it?
-The boss: of course you can.
-The client: thank you.

Before going to the room, the client asked the boss to provide him with a black knife, a white thread 39 cm and an orange 73g.

The boss agreed though he was surprized at the weird things the client asked to have.

The client went into his room, he didn't ask for food or anything else.

Unfortunately for the boss, his room was next to room 39.

After midnight, the boss heard strange voices and noise in that client's room. Voices of wild animals and of utensils and dishes being thrown on the floor.

The boss didn't sleep that night. He kept thinking and wondering what might be the source of the noise.

In the morning, when the client handed the keys to the boss, the latter asked to see the room first.

He went to the room and found everything alright. Nothing unusual. He even found the thread, the black knife and the orange on the table.

The client paid the bill and gave the bellboys a very good tip and left the hotel smiling.

The boss was in a shock but he didn't reveal what he heard to the bellboys. In fact, he started to doubt himself.

After one year, the client showed up again. He asked to see the boss again. The boss was in a puzzle.

The client asked the same things: room 39, black knife, white thread 39cm and an orange 79g.

This time, the boss wanted to know the truth by all means possible. He spent a sleepless night, waiting for something to happen. After midnight, the same voices and noises started, this time louder and more indecipherable than the year before.

Again, before leaving, the client paid his bill and left a large tip on the table for the bellboys. The smile didn't leave his face.

The boss started searching for the meaning of everything the client asked to have. Why did he ask room 39? why the white

I just met an Ekpeye Brother who I referred to as an Igbo man and he vehemently rejected, then I asked him the following questions:

Where does Ekpeye comes from if they're not Igbo?
He replied: "we're from Benin"

Why do you speak Igbo dialect ?
He replied: because our fathers married from Igbo.

Me: Are you married?
He replied: Yes!

Me: where did you married from?
He replied: Igbo woman

Me: Don't you think you made the same mistake your father's made which led to the change of your original Benin language by marrying same Igbo woman?
He replied: No!

Me: what part of your culture and tradition have your wife changed?
He replied: No part

Me: how old is your children?
He replied: 9 & 13 years (two children)

Me: what language do they speak fluently?
He replied: English & small Ekpeye

Me: why are they not speaking central Igbo since your wife is from the East?
He replied: Because I want them to speak my language

Me: is it right to say you're wiser than your father's who allowed their wives to change their original Benin language and culture?
He replied: No ooh!

Me: who is Akalaka?
He replied: A Benin Prince

Me: what is the meaning of Akalaka?
He replied: Destiny in Ekpeye language

Me: what does Akalaka mean in Benin language?
He replied: I don't know

Me: what does it mean in Igbo?
He replied: Destiny too?

Me: how come Akalaka have same meaning in Ekpeye and Central Igbo language but has no meaning in Benin language?
He replied: Hmmm!

Me: have you asked yourself why a Benin Prince ended up bearing Igbo name?
He replied: my brother I no fit answer that question oo!

Me: Where in Benin does this Akalaka comes from?
He Replied: From Akalaka clan.
(I was a bit shocked by that answer but I tried to compose myself not to distort the process)

Me: Do you know the meaning of Ekpeye in both Benin and Ekpeye language?
He replied: No!

Me: why haven't you thought of knowing the meaning of Ekpeye in your dialect but went on to know that Akalaka is from Benin?

She was very frank when I asked why she was leaving me; "I don't want to cheat on you so I'd rather leave," she told me. When I asked if she had met someone she simply said, "It doesn't matter. What matters is we ending what we have."

So I let her go. Not that I let her go, she was already going but I had to accept that our time together had come to an end. I tried not to call her. When I watched her status and was tempted to comment, I held my thumb in my mouth. A month later, it was clear she was in a relationship that was better than what we had.

The guy had stability, which I didn't have. He had a job he flaunted on his social media handles. Yes, I looked for him on social media. My heart was breaking so I had time to look for things.

I wasn't a perfect boyfriend. I had my lows just like she had her lows but I felt we were meant for each other until she left me. Six months later, the guy left her. According to her, the guy had a serious girlfriend in Germany and the girl returned.

I took her back.

That was the third time she had left me for another guy. The first one she told me she needed some time and space to think about her life. I granted it. Later she was in a relationship with another guy. The second time she said her family were on her to get married but I wasn’t ready so she left.

Each time when she came back, I opened my arms to her and we rebuilt from scratch. This one went on for so long I should have said no when she was available. But immediately she told me she was single again, I was the one who said, "Can you give us another chance?"

I know she's not good for me. I know she might leave again. I know I may take her back when she returns. I know it's not normal, the way I act around this girl. It's like she has my mumu button in her bra and presses it each time her breasts bounce.

I want to be in a place where I give this as her final chance. I've told her but how do I make it a reality? How do I make it work for real? That once she leaves
