Borno State’s renewed push to reintegrate citizens displaced by Boko Haram gained fresh momentum on Monday as Governor Babagana Zulum visited Nigerian refugees at the Minawao Camp in Cameroon, announcing a N500,000 resettlement support for each person willing to return home.

During his visit, Zulum also toured farmlands allocated to the refugees by the Cameroonian government, which have become their primary source of livelihood.

A prosecution witness on Monday told the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, how former Managing Director of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), Mr. Ahmed Kuru, allegedly diverted billions of naira belonging to the now- Arik Air Limited to establish a new airline, NG Eagle Airlines.

Another count alleged that Kuru, Omokide, and Ilegbodu “fraudulently converted to the use of NG Eagle Limited” the total sum of N4.9 billion belonging to Arik Air in 2022.

The Government of Burkina Faso has raised concerns after confirming that a Nigerian Air Force aircraft conveying 11 military personnel was compelled to land in the country on Monday, following what authorities described as an unauthorised entry into its airspace.

The military aircraft had two (2) crew members and nine (9) passengers on board, all military personnel.”
