Nigerian actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, known professionally as Baba Ijesha, regained freedom on Friday, November 14, 2025, after spending more than three years in prison on sexual assault charges.

Fellow actor Yomi Fabiyi announced the release on Instagram Friday evening, stating that Baba Ijesha had been cleared by the Appeal Court. In his post, Fabiyi wrote: "You are now officially FREE AND OUT. Baba Ijesha is not just back but BETTER. I am also happy you were cleared by the APPEAL COURT of ever having sex/defile any child/minor. The 7-year-old story is a charade."

Baba Ijesha was originally sentenced to 16 years in prison on July 14, 2022, by the Lagos State High Court after being convicted of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.
