PRESIDENCY DEBUNKS NEWS OF 114% SALARY REVIEW FOR PUBLIC OFFICIALS.
…..says president has not approved such a proposal.
The special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communication and Strategy, Mr. Dele Alake has debunked the purported news making the rounds that the Basic salaries of Political office holders and judicial officers has been reviewed by 114%.
He claimed that such a proposal has not even reached the table of the President. He also went further to say that, although it is within the constitutional remit of Revenue Mobilization,Allocation and Fiscal Commision to propose and fix salaries and allowances of political office holders and judicial Officers, such proposal requires the approval of the President before it can be implemented.
A proposal of which has not even gotten to the table of the President, how could it have been signed?
He said those spreading such spurious news are people who are hell-bent on destroying the giant strides the administration has recorded within this short period and also incite the people against the Tinubu led Government.
He also frowned at the mainstream media for being part of those spreading the unconfirmed fake news. He admonished them to always do a proper vetting of any news or information before disseminating it to the general public.
Going further, he urged Nigerians to have faith in the Renewed Hope and promised them that their Administration will make the general public their priority.
