When the discussion of Nepo Baby was hot on social media, I saw a tweet about a guy who shared his first time experience of being in a hotel where they use cards to open their doors.
Due to his level of exposure at the time, he was unable to open it until he had to go call his friend to help him out.
Someone quoted the tweet and explained how reading fiction exposed him to this kind of knowledge despite him coming from an average background.
Books, movies, music, etc, exposes you to a lot of things you may not be privileged to know because of your background.
PS: “An hotel” is historically correct and still considered acceptable in British English when the ‘h’ is silent. So no be say I gbagaun. 😩
