New Tax Law for All Nigerians 🤔

A fresh tax policy has just been introduced, and it is set to affect more Nigerians than ever before.

According to the new law, Diaspora Nigerians who spend over 183 days in the country will now be required to pay tax on their global income.

But that’s not all! The reform also covers content creators, social media influencers, and Nigerians living abroad who earn income beyond the nation’s borders.

This policy is sparking conversations, with many asking: Will it strengthen Nigeria’s economy, or place more burden on hardworking citizens at home and abroad?

💔 What is Happening to Our Women in Power?

Another tragedy has struck the Lagos political space with the passing of Mrs. Adebimpe Akintola, Council Manager of Coker Aguda LCDA and Chairman of the Forum of Council Managers in Lagos.

She reportedly died on Monday, September 29, 2025, after a brief illness. Until her passing, she was the administrative and accounting head of her LCDA and a respected voice representing her colleagues across the state.

Her death comes as a heavy blow! not just to her council, but to grassroots governance in Lagos. Sadly, she is the fifth female political leader in Lagos to pass away since July 27, 2025, when the current council administration was inaugurated.

The others include:

Aug 13: Mrs. Oluwakemi Rufai, Councillor, Ward C, Ibeju Lekki.

Aug 18: Mrs. Zainab Shotayo, Councillor, Ward C, Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA.

Sept 20: Princess Oluremi Ajose, Vice Chairman, Badagry West LCDA.

Sept 21: Mrs. Basirat Oluwakemi Mayabikan, Councillor, Ward F, Somolu.

That’s five female leaders gone in just over two months.

This string of painful losses has raised deep concerns within Lagos grassroots politics. Many are now asking: What exactly is happening to our women in power?

May their souls rest in peace. 🕊️

Before his EFCC saga, he had traveled to China where he met Mr. Ross and other top businessmen, promising Nigerian youths some business opportunities. But after EFCC seized his phone, he couldn’t recover it, and along with it, most of the important contacts he made.

Now, VDM has gone back to reconnect and rebuild those bridges....starting again with Mr. Ross, one of the biggest exporters to Africa.

💬 This picture captures a hot debate on modern love and relationships.

It all started with a post saying that if a woman rejects a man’s proposal the first time, it doesn’t mean he should give up. According to her, real men are supposed to keep chasing, proving themselves, and eventually winning her heart, no matter how long it takes.

But not everyone agrees. Another voice argued that this generation of men has lost touch with the art of pursuing women. Back in the day, persistence was considered romantic.

Then came the counterpoint. Today’s men say times have changed. Many don’t have the patience, time, or energy to keep “chasing” someone who clearly isn’t interested. Instead, they believe if she says no, it’s best to respect it and move on.

So here’s the big question: Is persistence in love a show of real commitment, or is it unnecessary pressure in a world where people just want clarity and peace?

A Magistrate Court in Ikeja, Lagos, has taken a firm stand in the ongoing saga surrounding the late singer Mohbad.

The court has issued a restraining order against Baba Mohbad, Bukky Jesse, Yomi Fabiyi, Larry Omodia, and Adewale Mariam, barring them from making any public statements or inciting actions against Mohbad’s widow, Omowunmi, and their son, Liam.

This ruling comes after weeks of heated controversies, accusations, and online campaigns that have put immense pressure on Omowunmi as she continues to mourn her husband. The order is aimed at protecting both mother and child from harassment, defamation, and further public trauma.

It’s a reminder that while emotions may run high in cases like this, the law steps in to protect the vulnerable.

Omooo I just saw a post of someone who passed out during an HSG procedure, and my body literally shivered because I’ve been there before. Not once oh… twice! 😩 And on top of that, I still did hydrotubation twice again.

People that haven’t experienced it will never understand. The pain no be here at all, e’s not something you can even explain properly. You’ll just be lying there thinking, “God abeg, make this thing end quick.”

And it’s not just the physical pain, the emotional wahala is even worse....walking into the hospital knowing fully well what you’re about to face but still saying yes because of the hope you’re holding onto. That kind of strength, only those who have gone through it will understand.

So if you’ve done HSG or hydrotubation before, just know you’re a warrior! 💙 You no dey alone at all.

It’s so sad to see how some people are mocking Phyna after the tragic loss of her sister. Instead of showing compassion, many are telling her to “rest,” as if grief has an expiry date.

Let’s be real! if this kind of tragedy had happened in the Western world, compensation would run into millions of dollars. Not because money can replace a life, but because justice demands accountability.

Here, people treat it like nothing happened. Both the government and even ordinary citizens often move on quickly, forgetting that behind every headline is a real family shattered forever.

No amount of money from Dangote’s Group or anyone at all can ever bring back Phyna’s sister. None. But at least compassion, support, and accountability should count for something.

Nigeria… sometimes we can be too heartless. Let’s not wait until tragedy knocks at our own doors before we understand what others are going through.
