The Church of God Mission International was founded by Archbishop Benson Idahosa — widely regarded as the father of modern Pentecostalism in Nigeria.

Idahosa built Nigeria's first Pentecostal university (Benson Idahosa University, Benin City), established All Nations for Christ Bible Institute, and pioneered Pentecostal media broadcasting in Nigeria through television ministry in the 1970s.

CGMI today operates schools, hospitals, and welfare programmes across Edo, Delta, and Rivers States. Its school network produces some of Edo State's highest-performing students, and its medical outreaches have served rural Delta communities for decades.

In an area repeatedly hit by farmer-herder conflicts and security crises, COCIN's hospitals, schools, and IDP welfare programmes have continued without interruption.

Founded formally in 1941, CAC traces its roots to the Aladura prayer movements and the 1930 revival in Ijebu-Ode under Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola — where thousands reportedly experienced divine healing.

Assemblies of God Nigeria has been educating and healing Nigerians since 1934.

The denomination arrived with a mandate to educate as much as evangelise. Today, AG Nigeria operates one of the country's oldest Pentecostal school networks — schools across multiple states and Assemblies of God College in Enugu.

The church has been particularly active in medical missions in rural South-East communities: free health camps, maternal care outreaches, and primary healthcare in areas with limited public infrastructure.

Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries was founded by Dr. D.K. Olukoya — a molecular biologist and Senior Research Fellow at the Nigerian Institute for Medical Research.

Through the MFM Medical Mission, the church runs free annual healthcare outreaches — consultations, surgeries, eye care, dental treatment — for thousands of patients who cannot access private care. MFM operates an extensive school network and provides regular welfare support to IDP communities.

ECWA began with three men who came to Nigeria knowing two of them would likely die.

In 1893, Walter Gowans, Thomas Kent, and Rowland Bingham went into the Sudan interior. Gowans and Kent died within months. Bingham returned, raised support, came back. ECWA is what that sacrifice became.

Today: 6,000+ churches. 6 million members. The largest Protestant school network in Northern Nigeria. ECWA Hospital Egbe — a full tertiary facility. A rural development arm that provides agricultural kits and farming support to smallholder farmers across the Middle Belt.

In early 2026, ECWA scaled emergency food aid and agricultural kits to thousands of IDPs in Plateau and Kaduna States amid ongoing security crises.

December 2025: a week-long free medical outreach across four Idoma communities in Benue State — Igumale, Iga Okpaya, Adoka, Otukpo. 7,000+ residents treated for hypertension, malaria, diabetes, eye conditions, dental and skin issues, with on-site laboratory services.

2020: PPE and ventilators donated to UATH Abuja (COVID-19). 2024: Humanitarian outreach in Pakistan. 2025: Relief to Yelewata displaced communities.

The Paul Enenche Scholarship Scheme supports hundreds of orphans from primary to tertiary level.
