FEAREST SUNDAY IGBOHO FIRM WARNING!!: Yoruba nation activist Sunday Igboho has issued a strong warning to members of the Fulani community in Igboho, Oyo State, over allegations of kidnapping and insecurity in the area.
In a video circulating online, Igboho addressed Fulani leaders, traditional rulers, elders, and community members, expressing anger over recent kidnapping incidents, including the reported killing of a pregnant woman and a ransom bearer.
“You cannot be kidnapping people in our hometown. You kidnapped someone in my hometown; she was pregnant, and you still killed her. The person who brought the ransom, you still killed him and spared only one person,” he said.
The activist stated that he had remained calm out of respect for traditional rulers who appealed for restraint.
“I am Sunday Igboho. I am calm because my fathers asked me to be calm with you. Let this be the last time such a thing will happen. Has any Fulani man been kidnapped in this town? Please talk to your people,” he said.
He also issued a call for the immediate release of reportedly abducted victims.
“I am giving you two hours to release the woman and the children you kidnapped overnight at their residence,” he declared.
In a separate video, Igboho was seen leading supporters into the Oyo National Reserve Park, alleging that parts of the area had been occupied by armed herders.
“Like this reserve area, our fathers were farming there until these Fulani people turned it into their settlement and started rearing cattle in this bush. Once we rescue those children, we must not see any of them in this bush,” he said.
The remarks have generated widespread reactions as concerns over security and kidnapping continue to attract attention in parts of the country.
