In law, debt is a civil matter, not a cr!minal offe)โ‚ฌnce. Owing money whether it is โ‚ฆ5,000 or โ‚ฆ5 million does not give any loan company or their agents the authority to arrโ‚ฌst you. The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, and settled case law all make it clear: you cannot be arrโ‚ฌsted simply because you owe money.
Unfortunately, some loan apps and companies hire thugs, rogue officers, or untrained staff to chase borrowers, bundle them into vehicles, and take them to unknown locations. That is not debt recovery that it is k!!dn@pping, abdโˆšction, and false impr!s0nment, all of which are serious cr!mes under Nigerian law.
If such happens to you or someone you know, understand this:
1.The loan company has acted outside the law.
2.The borrower has the right to sue in court for damages.
3.You can recover compensation for fundamental rights vi0lations, including unlawful arrโ‚ฌst, dโ‚ฌtention, and breach of dignity.
Borrowing money is not a cr!me. H@rassing or abdโˆšcting a borrower is.

SENATOR NATASHAโ€™S RESUMPTION LIES WITH SENATE NOT THE CLERK |

The office of the clerk to the National Assembly has clarified that the clerk does not possess the authority to review reverse or interpret senate decisions and resolutions.

A statement from the Director of information of the National Assembly,in response to reports by some section of the media concerning suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and her attempt to resume legislative duties, following a communication from her legal representative with threats of legal and disciplinary action, explains that the determination of whether she can resume her legislative duties without any further or fresh resolution of the Senate, lies solely with the senate and not with the office of the clerk to the National assembly.

The statement adds that the office of the clerk remains guided by principles of constitutionalism, institutional respect and the rule of law, and that the office of the clerk serves strictly as an administrative arm in accordance with senate standing rules.

The statement urged the public to be patient and allow the appropriate institutions, including the senate and the courts to discharge their constitutional responsibilities.

Nigeriaโ€™s Wanted Bandit Kingpin Accepts Peace Deal (Photos) |

A notorious bandit leader, Isiya Kwashen Garwa, who was declared wanted by the Defence Headquarters, was among top bandits who reportedly accepted a peace deal in Katsina State.

Zagazola Makama gathered that Garwa, whose name features among 19 most-wanted terrorists and bandits in Nigeria, has turned up in Hayin Gada community, Faskari Local Government Area, presenting himself as an advocate of dialogue.

Garwa, originally from Kamfanin Daudawa village in Faskari LGA, has long been linked to killings, kidnappings and raids across forest belts in Katsina and neighbouring states.

Security experts describe him as part of a wider network of armed leaders destabilising the North-West and North Central through cross-border operations, exploiting of weak state presence.

Despite his bloody record, Garwaโ€™s recent posture signals a possible shift in approach, as local leaders and security stakeholders weigh the implications of his acceptance of peace terms.

Reactions remain divided. While some residents see the development as a chance to restore calm in long-troubled communities, others question the sincerity of the bandit leader, recalling the atrocities attributed to his group.
