In The Light Of Truth: Rots And Decadence In The Nigeria Police And Its Repercussions To The Society. Who Will Change The Narratives.

By Yamah Abdulateef

The Nigeria Police in recent times have been a subject of ridicule, from it's mode of operations, attitude, behaviors and it's relationship with the people, there seems to be a whole lot existing the weaknesses of the force in all fronts With the facts that, the force cannot be detached from the happenings of the what is going on in the country, as a lot is yet to be unravelled in the force.

A p***c institution like the police, established to protect lives and properties is on the other way round enmeshed in wrong doings against the state and you wonder what had changed in the one if the best in Africa. Lest we forget, the force had produced one of the finest in men and women that had stood against and defend the country against internal crimes that had happened in the past.

In the 80s when "Anini the law" was terrorising Benin city in the old Bendel state, the Nigeria Police rose in action to bring Anini to it's knee, with the likes of Chris Omeben leading the charge. Since then, bribery, corruption, nepotism and indiscipline had taken over the once revered crime fighting outfit in Nigeria.

The level of unprofessionalism brings to mind which model is the police patterened, as the metropolitan police in the UK ensure that the home land security is safe and with high level of commitment to service. Which brings to question, how committed is the Nigeria Police Force and how insulated they are from crime.

With several indictments around it, the people have lost trust in them, as their agenda to always be the first to dehumanize, kill innocent and defendles Nigerians and trample upon the people's human rights in a gestapo manner, while asking them to go to hell.

Though, not a surprise as even the process bringing in recruits into the force seems to be faulty as even those training the newly intakes and the facilities used in training them seem to be archaic, while the seed of discord is sowed into them to see Nigerians as their enemies, whereas, the weapon fashioned against them is their hierarchy that ensures that their barracks are unkept, police stations are like pig houses, rickety vehicles, with high targets demand from their oga at the top. All these are major issues not addressed, with the usuals of always defending the few, carrying their bags, illegal road blocks and scrambling to be orderlies to political exposed persons and mighty I'm the society, brings their credibility to function as law keepers to book.

At this point, it shows that the job is centred around forces and chain of command that can't check excesses of men and women, rather, show of force and power within, has further deepened their core values, without strong will to deal with the whole, but a few. As quick as they are, in framing up victims, the police have been complicit in most cases, as we have in accidental discharge, unlawful arrests and killings. Who answers for the appo killing in Abuja, what about the death of Chief Bola Ige, where all his security details were said to have gone to eat at the same time before his untimely death.

This non absence of proper checks and balances as a result of wranglings between the IGP and the chairman of the Police Service Commission that has a former IGP as it's chairman is a major reason for this. With the government knowing, why not seek help outside to reposition the police force, by bringing in a seasoned administrator to reposition, sanitize, rehabilitate, train and refocuse their attention to community policing which is the yearning of the people. Nigerians saw this with the customs, as Col. Hameed Ali Rtd. was appointed as Custom's Comptroller General and heaven did not fall but, repositioned it without stress.

Now that the chicken has come home to roost, how can the Police clear their battered image that is showing everywhere, how can they restore their lost glory. Just recently, men of the Nigeria Police where seen lined up, receiving money from a Chinese based in Nigeria and that alone is a testament to the stench oozing out of the Nigeria Police which they can't deny. We now ask them where the best practices they preach is.

The governments before now and the present one can't deny that the Police as an institution is in a mess, but how did they treat the issues, problems and the consequences, if any, but It all rolled over with the status quo remaining and the people disenchanted with their activities and operations. As they are perceived as liers, killers and never to be trusted institution.

Also, their involvement in some organized chaos is one hate the people have for them as they happened to be chief instigation of crisis and don't believe in fair hearing but intimidation which saw them loose respect in the eyes of the law and the people.

Now that Nigeria is even under policed and few ones available are underutilized and the one utilized are for the wrong reasons, it is right for national policing and state policing be taken seriously, coupled with strong stance on discipline and welfare. The human angle be brought back to the police because their violations of human rights is more than the ones they are meant to preserve and protect. With their slogan that bail is free and the police is your friend, which are never true, there is every means for those in authority to take proper monitoring of the police seriously with appropriate sanctioning at any point in time, with a renewed vigour to bring back standard practice.

The innocent people the police have thrown behind bars is more than the criminals that have been let loose. Imagine, having a crime scene without thorough investigation, but every body within and from afar, are picked up unchallenged, just to prove a point. All these negates standard practice of policing, reason being that, the authority have failed to do the needful in correcting deviations in the areas of crime and internal security.

Now that the police has lost it's commanding respect, urgent moves by the government should be placed on their funding, recruitment, welfare and general operations because the police look like demigods and this has to stop to ensure that public trust returns to the police. This will aid the police community relations and people will volunteer information to them, because, as it is right now, even the police are suspects of revealing and selling out information to the public, thereby betraying the trust and believe of the people as information management has been breached.

In this regard, responsible men and women be given the responsibility to be at the top echelon of the institution to bring back the professionalism the police is known for, as this will bring about a more approachable police with a human face.

GOV OKPEBHOLO: DEATH PENALTY BY HANGING AWAITS KIDNAPPERS IN EDO STATE

He said, "I take the issue of insecurity seriously and will not bend the rules but apply them strictly. The new law in the State permits us to demolish their properties and confiscate their lands. We will build vigilante team offices on those lands.

"We will bring kidnappers to the public and execute them to show our seriousness according to the laws already passed by the EDHA. I will not be afraid to sign it"

******* I hope this is no fluke.

Arsenal Cross The Rubicon, Beat Madrid To Advance To Semi-Finals With PSG

A night of surprise it was, as Arsenal against all odds beat Real Madrid to the semifinals spot in the 2024/2025 UEFA Champions League.

With a watertight defence, the Gunners stifled the 15th time champions of the prestigious league in Europe as they brought them to their knees with goals from Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martineli in the second half of the game.

A 5 -1 aggregate win, the Gunners replicated the 19 years defeat of Madrid at Bernabeau in the semifinals of the 2005/2006 champions league.

This commanding victory is a true testament to the Arteta project at the Emirates.

Recycling Of Old Politicians And The Menace Of Redundancy: Where Lies The Place Of Merit

By Yamah Abdulateef

Overtime, Nigeria has had a problem of recycling old politicians into sensitive posts, regime and political structures. Thus bringing to the fore the place of merit beyond "man know man".

Nigerians kept asking if these politicians are the only ones with the magic wand to move Nigeria forward, rather than give way to those with fresh ideas and the can do spirit to right the wrongs pertaining to governance.

These men who have been over spent, what do they have to give again when Nigeria and Nigerians still differ from their actions and inactions at a point in time.

As some have been brought in to pay them back for a job well done which might be relating to election or being friend to the president or a high party ranking member, it states how far, nobody cares what the situation is, but a way of compensation without matching capacity and the end results.

This was even evident as former President Muhammadu Buhari had a dead man on his lists of ambassadorial positions. These not only bring out the rot in our public service and thought processes, but inability to hold on to processes of governance that will bring out fairness, equity and professionalism in all facets of our development. You now ask the purpose of having men over 80 years to still serve their father land while they are supposed to be resting.

Rather than help the government in their capacity, the government is busy carrying along dead woods that have nothing to offer, but liabilities that are dependent on the government for their means of survival.

When will deserving Nigerians get to be in the forefront of decision making, rather, we saw old state governors who failed as governors holding sway as ministers, ambassadors. Yet, we expect a better life, having stuck to the old guns.

What magic did those in the affairs of governance want to do with recycled men, as Nigerians have all seen and are living with the ineptitude of their actions. These are the major reason fresh ideas are not brought into governance, while maintaining the old order..

This brings us to the question of merit in governance, as Nigerians are scattered all over the world and within, but due to political patronage, misfits are put into strategic positions to help drive agenda and policies of government, in return, we have witnessed policy summersaults as people who are not well grounded in their assigned portfolios are helping the country to nose-dive into more problems.

Rather than put country first, politics is put first above every other thing which shows that the clique that rules the land at any point ensures that committee of friends holds on to power, even if ideas have left them.

Imagine a state governor who couldn't add value to his state, is coming in as Minister or an Ambassador, while we have the brains who can nurture ideas to reality and make it work, yet we opt for spent politicians who are not in tuned with modern techniques of governance and administration. And those putting them forward won't think of how things have evolved with time.

From the economy, science and technology and agriculture, it should have been a deliberate act to bring in young chaps with the know how and can-do spirit, but the reverse is the case, as men in the era of analogue and manual wanting to rule over us in this era of auto drive.

We know it is their choices to make, it should be noted that, but choices premised on adaptability of modernity, which is supposed to be the watchword. If not for merit, those lording over us, who are hell bent on retarding the country and it's people through archaic methods, once saw this country worked.

However, the implications of these amounts to one, bigger than the country, lawlessness, being lackadaisical, corruption, untouchable and stopping the right people to attain the position of contributing to nation building, and we want Nigeria to be good. Which was why the not too young to rule was adopted but politics of gerontocracy didn't allow it to see the light of the day.

If the needful of merit is addressed, the high turn over of good policies and better programs will be witnessed. This would be as a result of the level of positive imput and outputs that is aimed at uplifting the nation.

As shameless as these politicians are, they are never at will, to say no and allow fresh ideas, they hop into any government in power, despite their cluelessness and pretend to be good for the position, the rest is disaster. Some we have seen from 2023 to 2027 will be seen till 2030 and you ask if we have scarce human resources.

As some have seen this as job for the boys, the law of diminishing returns in what goes in and out of governance in Nigeria, puts questions to the thoughts processes that defines governance and it's practicability, which makes one wonder if really we are a serious country. With reference to the ambassadorial list made public by President Tinubu, we have seen past Governors of Abia and Enugu States respectively, as former minister of aviation, Femi Fani Kayode in the mix, as Senator Shehu Sani makes a come back and wanting to be ambassadors.

This is a typical example of recycling old folks, while we have young and vibrant Nigerians in all spheres of life who are prepped up for international assignments as this, as they are willing to change the dynamics of international relations between Nigeria and other countries. Alas, it's business as usual.

As it is, Nigeria leaders should learn to break away from the norms of recycling old folks into positions of authority, rather Nigerians who merited such positions be given the nod to serve without hinderence.

Terrorism/Kidnapping/Farmer/Herders Crisis: The Politics of Insecurity

By Yamah Abdulateef

The increasing rate of Insecuity in Nigeria is one of serious concerns that had made Nigerians wondered if actually this is the country that once boasted of being the best among the committee of Nations. It's true, as reality has checked in, as the unthinkable has become part of us and what we are living with, against our will and wishes.

More seriously, the politics behind insecurity in Nigeria had taken a toll in facets of development and growth, while a huge budget set aside to fight terrorism and it keeps growing in different modes, styles and dimensions.

The news of Nigerians being killed, maimed or kidnapped doesn't move Nigerians anymore because we are all casualties of the wapped system of grave inequalities, Injustice and inhumane treatment from the government. The big question is, how did we get here. These are well known to discerning Nigerians and it is due to poor leadership and the ability to think right by those in authorities.

At the centre of all these are the military and other security agencies who are deployed to bring down these negative forces, but the more they fight, the more insecurity keeps thriving. In the eyes of fighting insecurity, the UN Building in Abuja was torched, Force Headquarters in Abuja was targeted, military formations bombed, the NDA's security was breached, brilliant soldiers killed, with that of Colonel Abu Ali a special case in point.

More interestingly is the coming up of terrorists factions, like ISWAP, terrorists like Ibrahim Shekau, now late, still existing Bello Turji and other strong headed bad guys in the forests and everywhere.

These audacious moves shows how bereft of ideas the government and those in the theatre of operations are. Let's not forget that some years back, an America citizen was kidnapped in Niger Republic and moved to Nigeria, but was taken out and freed from captivity by the US special forces without any noise. This shows that Nigeria as country is not ready for any means of taking Nigeria out of this doldrum but continue to see how it can profiteer from this ugly situation.

What would it take to take a decisive action against insecurity, even if it means seeking for help abroad. Shamefully, the government won't do that because of cheap ego that saw them killed Shekau more than a countless time, until he was killed by a rival terrorist group. Come to think of it, how comfortable is the government, seeing countless people killed in Benue, Taraba, Zamfara and Bornu states. Does that mean, no life matters.

These get to show that the common thing in between is beyond capacity but vested interests protecting their own while others are left to suffer. Have we forgotten the purchase of Super Tucano, several military hardwares and the deal to buy arms during the GEJ era as president. Yet, no substantial evidence that insecurity has been reduced in Nigeria. Every year, budget for defense takes one of the biggest chunk of our annual budget and you now ask what the monies are meant for.

From the political angle to all these, who is behind all these shenanigans, who is shielding the perpetrators of these evil everywhere. Is the government not aware of the killings, why can't they be brought to book, or does the lives of some Nigerians differs from others. Putting these in perspectives brings a reflection of a weak political system surrounded by ethnic chauvinists, bigots, war mongers and crisis entrepreneurs who doesn't care what becomes of Nigeria and Nigerians.

That's why even as the government and leaders knows the genesis of our insecurity problems, they tend to give insecurity a special attention as if it is insurmountable, where as in most cases, non pro-active measures on the side of government is Nigeria's greatest undoing. These lip service is what the non state actors have capitalized on, to declare war and a federation inside the Federal Republic of Nigeria and this is not seen as a clarion call to rise against any external aggressors.

The collective silence and hypocrisy on arms proliferation by those at the top is common fact that a lot has really gone bad and nobody is willing to nip all the nonsense in the bud, just because of may be, election, relevance and whatever it takes not to be in the bad books of whoever is dictating the political machinery. But at which gains are we letting bandits, terrorists and herders destroy our country and we feel good about it. And while trying to talk about it, one is asked to shut up because of ethnic superiority.

Funny enough, those not wanting to talk about insecurity, have also politicized it that even as they receive the heat on insecurity, they also don't want to go close to having an open minded discussion on it, but quick to shield theirs at the expense of national security. Recently Uromi town was in the news for bad reason because 16 alleged hunters on their way to Kano state were lynched to death. Without supporting jungle justice, the people of Uromi had been going through all manner of insecurity but the state governor never deemed it fit to check insecurity in that area, until the unthinkable happened, he started sueing for peace. But what now happened to the victims before now, who had paid them a courtesy visit and how much of compensation did they get?

These injustice within, also helped to fuel internal insecurity which is a fall out of the insensitivity of governors, local government chairmen and traditional rulers to help in flagging off areas in turmoil.

These now brings us to what state security votes are meant for. This joke of security vote that have no consequenctial bearing on the people should be taken away from the governors ànd channelled into a local/state policing trust fund to be properly administered for effective policing.

Funny enough, whenever issues of state policing is mentioned, it is even the politicians that brings the demerits of the policing system to public debate and and we want a better society. These got to show that Nigeria leaders often lie to the people by dashing their hopes without putting the people first.

What about having a security summit in this time. If we can talk or have an open discussion raging from boarder management, a true national identity of who are true Nigerians, open grazing law and state boundary management, we should be able to have a headway as to where we are headed. As it is now, it is just mere slogans to please ourselves, as lives are taken everyday, while discussions of merger, defection, sexual harassment in the Senate, recall of Senator Natasha Akpoti and other irrelevant narratives are what we wake up to see in Nigeria. While germaine issues are left to wither off. What a shame.

From all intents, it seems end is not in sight yet, as more persons are still in captivity and some freshly released, having paid ransom to the kidnappers. Who would have thought that Brigadier General Maharazu Tsiga Rtd, would be in captivity for 56 days having paid huge ransom before he was released. Yet, the government doesn't see this as a wake up call and the military is window dressing the issue, which is a slap on their face, having done well in their past assignments. Here we are at the mercies of terrorists.

The time to call the bluffs of these elements is now, that is if the political will is there to do so.

Uromi Lynching Of 16 Northerners: The Collective Hypocrisy And The Irresponsible Attitude Of The Government And The People's Helpless Situation, A Balance Of Terror In The Making.

By Yamah Abdulateef

The killing of 16 Northerners in Uromi, in Edo State has attracted public outcry from within and without, condemning the irresponsible and senseless act. These however, has brought the state and the people of Uromi and Edo state to public discourse as this, has never happened before.

Be that as it may, heads have started rolling, arrests are being made and jobs are being lost in Edo State. This bold moves by the Edo State governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo is a good step in the right direction which is expected to show that he is alive to his responsibility.

Now that the government of Edo State, Presidency and the IGP of Police and the Northern Leaders have suddenly put their toga of office on, to ensure that the perpetrators of this dastardly acts are brought to book, their sudden signification that they are alive in their knee jerk reaction not only brings out the hollow and absent mindedness on the side of the government across board, it also shows the collective hypocrisy and irresponsible attitude of our leaders.

Before now, from Benue, Enugu, Kogi and Ondo states, the people have been crying about the herders destroying their farms and crops, bro the extent of ra**ng their women and kidnapping for ransom. All of these have been glossed over with little or no action. These Uromi in question, the people have shouted to the high heavens, the world never responded as they did now, even Auchi also in the mix has been taken over by herders. Is it, Eware, Jagbe, Agbede, Aviele, where the herders/kidnapers ran riot by killing innocent souls, is it Anegbette, Agenebode and Ivianokpodi where Reverend Fathers have been kidnapped ceaselessly and a seminarian killed.

You now ask, where was the Presidency in all of these crimes against the people. The sad reality is that the people are fed up, let's not forget the public outcry which depicts deceits in the faces and voices of those criticizing the killings which though, is their rights to do so. But again, are we satisfied with the lives of fear, blood, sorrow and tears that we live in?

Making the killers of the 16 Northerners in Uromi scapegoats is good, but what had happened to those who did worse than that in the North. What steps have the government taken to nip the senseless killings in the bud. Are we now having two laws for the people in Nigeria. One for the herders and one for non herders. All these culminates to anger and revenge as the people are seeing the authority not doing anything but looking the other side if anything goes wrong.

Let's not forget that, the ineptitude of the previous government emboldened the herders to wreck havoc and commit atrocities and they went away with it, now this government is towing that line of the old order.

Even as the people are helpless, the question of small arms proliferation and weapons handling still remain the big issues which fuels the audacious moves of the herders in commiting crimes against defenceless people. And the government want the people to sit and not react, putting it bluntly, the government is the chief orchestra of unwanted killings every where because their failed actions and inactions are the spring board for what ever befalls Nigerians.

Now, the local vigilante are being fingered in this, and a thought of where is the police, comes to mind. If they had done their jobs as internal peace keepers and crime enforcers, they would have checked and guide the hunters as they claimed to be, through proper profiling, but left the innocent victims as they were to fall victims.

In the hearts of those driving this country at the Presidency level, including the Northern Leaders, what have they done to prosecute those who have hitherto done such in their areas. Late Deborah is a case in point, as excuse for misdemeanor has given rise to more questionable deaths, thereby making herders a common enemy.

At this point, the government shouldn't absorb itself from accusations and counter accusations emanating from cries of the people due to the killings in most part of the country. The weak security fabrics and architecture propelled by the government portends a shameful and fertile ground for willful actions from non state actors who have drawn the line of war with the innocent Nigerians.

In the height of this, have the government wield the big stick on the Commissioner of Police in Edo State, the AIG of the Zone, the DIG incharge South-South and the IGP. Beyond this, where lies intelligence, how did we allow the helpless people to continually defend them selves with nothing, as against the killer headers who parades weapons without any hinderence.

Now that terror is being balanced in many ways, it should behove on the government to quickly address the causes of this longtime problem that the immediate past government and this government is yet to tackle owing to politics. As it is, the Northern elites and elders should stand against the activities of the herders that have and still provoking the people down south because the outcome of these acts has thrown people into debts, death and useless to themselves, yet no one to cry to.
Even when voices are raised, there is little or nothing to be done.

Rather than this outburst, there should be a deliberate act to educate and inform the herders on the need for co-operation and peaceful coexistence with their host communities. As it is, there shouldn't be any need for grandstanding but means to forestall future occurrence be put forward.

On the whole, is the government serious about security of lives and properties, are they scared of speaking truth to the farmers, community-herders crisis once and for all. There are also insinuations that the traditional rulers are also complicit in the acts of the herders clashes with their host communities. Which brings to the fore, how the people are left to bare the brunt of the problems brought to them by the actions of their rulers. This dimension should also be on the radar to checkmate the actions of the traditional rulers in their dealings with the herders in their communities.

All these complex issues wrapped in one, should not be the people's problems alone. But the governors have chosen not to take these issues seriously. Where is the security votes, as the case of Uromi, was there no early warning signs, what was the reactions of the police while all these were taking place, yet, the police are shamelessly proud to make arrest.

You can't be in Benue, Enugu, Anambra, Ondo and Edo States and be comfortable with whatever is going on in Nigeria, that's why we should from now, hit the government more than before, because the new standards set to deal with those involved in Uromi lynching should be extended to the herders too. Not cherry picking whom and how to react to burning issues.

At this point Nigerians are now, the need for seeing something and saying it as it is, should be a national culture that Nigerians should imbibe without any bias, as this will bring a national healing, as what we need now is equal rights and justice.

Anything not inline with this, will always lead to balance of terror

2027: Alignment And Realignment Of Politicians And The Citizens Naivety, Another Mistake About To Happen?

By Yamah Abdulateef

Recent political happenings relating to 2027 has been melodramatic and thought provoking, following the moves by some politicians fighting for relevance in the midst of uncertainties. This brings to bare how much of of our politics, be it, it's practicability and understanding we really do understand with recourse to how we are doing as a people.
No doubt that Nigerians are going through the hardest of times resulting from the actions and inactions of the government, resulting to struggles by Nigerians to make ends meet.

To further lay claims to power, the politicians who knows how best to tickle our fancies with nothing are mending fences, renewing friendships, making enmity a thing of the past among them, building new political bridges, dishing out political statements to discredit opponents for us to believe them and also using our naivety to process our thoughts and clamp on us when the time comes in 2027.

Most Nigerians who don't know the shocker we are in, are joining those who are assured of their tomorrow to fight their class wars. That's why we need to cast our minds back to the past political happenings to see how we the citizens have been used and dumped in the struggle to attain power by the politicians.

Taking our minds back to 2014/2015, and what happened there after, is supposed to be the spring board for our political thoughts and a rallying point for political discourse as to how we have come to this stage of struggle as we all witness today.

You now ask, some one who was in charge of the Bureau for Public Enterprise, became a Minister for the FCT and a two time governor, now he has fallen out with the present government, he has moved and now demarketing his former party. Like wise other politicians who have in one way or the other be part of the process that conveyed us to this point of no return. Now they are behaving as if nothing had happened.

The fall guys in all of these are Nigerians who have never graduated from the school of politics for the last 25 years which is supposed to have shaped and reshaped how we behaved politically. The question is, what do they (politicians) have to offer, what did they left in the office they want to get back, is it only them that have the brains to fix Nigeria. These and many more are the crux of the matter we have refused to discuss, yet, we are fast to hate the government in power as it were and come back to re-elect them back to office with full honours. Are we cursed or we just want to continue doing the wrong things for the fun if it.

Which premium value do these politicians want us to place on them, when we have seen the worst in health, power, infrastructural development, economic and political developments that have stiffened the developments of Nigeria. Have we not seen for power gone down the drain, refineries comatose, the steel sector also gone, public institutions rotten. These have been supervised by these same men shouting and criticizing the government of today and they want us to believe their hue and cry. Funny enough, most Nigerians are still calling for some persons to come rescue us, calling on parties that can't handle congresses to come to our rescue, is it that bad that we have suddenly lost touch with history. Or should we say we deserve the kind of country we have.

As it were, this is the time for a true evaluation of our democratic process and the candidates we intend to vote into office as we see the same faces in different parties repeating their failed promises and we fall for their gimmicks. The question is, are we lazy in our thoughts or afraid to question our sensibilities. Is it not funny that we have been used overtime and as soon as the politicians got what they wanted they discard us as if we don't matter.

Whatever happens to Nigerians is their own handiwork because ethnicity, religion and poor followership has been our trade mark in political followership. As we lick our wounds as a result of political brutality, craning our eyes in all directions and in no direction looking for salvation has further deepen our naivety as we can't place our priority on the best of choices before us.

Among the musketeers coming out for 2027, who is strange to us, what have we not seen in them, what have we not heard about them and we know all their antecedents and we are still their die hard fans and supporters, are we jinxed? The outlook of our politics shows how we are far from ourselves as followers. Rather than join forces, we fight their fights and create enemies for ourselves while they wine and dine at the expense of the poor.

Should we again allow these politicians come and sweet talk us into their own alliances that has no bearing on our lives, should we join them as against the mega alliances that has since outlived its value on Nigerians or we just leave am for God in our usual style. Though, a pity how we have transited overtime, the value of Nigerians has been off the books of those who claimed they loved us, but divide and rule us for their interests. As if that is not enough, we have started seeing their children in states houses of assembly, house of representatives and some holding political appointments. This is a grand design to promote their political hegemony and rule over us, while we cheer and argue for or against their competency and motives.

By and large, we should have the courage to stop these nonsense from the ward level, local government level, Constituency, senatorial and state levels because that's where the recycling starts from and some persons will give excuses for all these. Yet, you saw a different person you would have given your vote to, you prefer to go for the spent old war horse without value.

All of these shows that we have learned nothing from our predicaments as we should by this moment be bold enough to speak directly to issues of political values to us, rather than seek emotive positions when the deeds are done. Well, Nigeria is what it is, the politicians have read the game ahead of the people and understood the critical mind games they play with the people, while the people fall prey.

It should be of note that these spent forces are out again to hypnotize the people towards 2027, but it depends on us as a people to stand against this long unbeaten run they have had and still having. At this point we should say no to them and their antiques as we should be resilient and not be naive to speak to issues squarely.
