UPDATE :
THE HEARTBREAKING TRAGEDY IN NNEWI
Three innocent siblings – a boy aged 5, and two girls aged 7 and 9 – were brutally murdered in their home and their bodies were stored in a deep freezer in Nnewichi, Nnewi, Anambra State, by unknown assailants.
The eldest, Ejezie Chikaima Daviana, along with her siblings, Ejezie Chimziterem Dominica and Ejezie Chimdilim David, were at home when their mother, Mrs. Chikazor Ejezie, a lecturer and nurse, left for an examination. Upon her return, she found the door wide open, an unusual sight as the children always locked it when they went out to play.
Their father, Mr. Ejezie Udochukwu, based in Irrua, Edo State, received a devastating call from his wife on February 1, and rushed to Nnewichi. He recounted how his wife and others searched for the children, even at the church where they served as altar boys and girls, but to no avail. In despair, they opened the deep freezer and found the lifeless bodies of the children.
The house, shared with two tenants and the landlord, showed traces of food in plates, indicating the children were eating when the assailants struck around noon. The corpses have been deposited at a morgue, and the police at CPS Nnewi are investigating the matter. The father expressed his devastation, saying, "My three kids killed at the same time by yet to be identified assailants."
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident and stated that the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Itam, has ordered a full investigation. The bodies have been recovered, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka for thorough investigation.
Our hearts go out to the family during this unimaginable time. 💔🕊️
Stay safe and vigilant.
