Tragic news emerges as a Nigerian bodybuilder passed away following a confrontation with his wife in the United States. Michael Chidozie, residing in Houston, Texas, succumbed to injuries sustained after being shot multiple times by his wife, Keaiirra Shavoiyae Chidozie, in their apartment.
The 26-year-old Michael tragically lost his life weeks after the incident, which occurred on March 21, 2024, when his wife, aged 28, shot him four times during an argument witnessed by their young children. Rushed to Ben Taub Hospital with gunshot wounds, Michael remained on life support as his family hoped for his recovery. However, he eventually succumbed to complications arising from a severe spinal injury 18 days later.
Keaiirra was initially charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after the shooting, but her charges have not been upgraded following Michael's passing. She claimed self-defense, stating she feared for her life during the argument, which escalated as Michael followed her into their bedroom. The exact cause of the argument remains unclear, but it commenced elsewhere in the house before culminating in the tragic events in the bedroom, where Keaiirra shot Michael multiple times.
In the aftermath, Keaiirra was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court on May 23, while their children are under the care of other family members.
