*CONSOLIDATING NAAS RELATIONSHIP WITH MEMBERS FOR BETTER GOVERNANCE*..where we are coming from, where we are & where we are going
A SPEECH DELIVERED BY *NAAS PRESIDENT COMRADE RAYMOND M JEBE*
Good evening fellow members
How are you doing? How is work & family? Hope everything is moving on smoothly according to plans. Glory be to God!
Is good to be with you this lovely day *Wed, 20th July, 2022.* I can't imagine as the president of *Nigerian Artist Association(Naas),* two years running none of Naas member as achieve their goals or the benefits of being a Naas member. I see this as a big challenge to my government so I decided to tackle the issues in order to come up with a lasting solution. Frankly speaking, as I resumed work on this matter, the first plan on my agenda is to strengthen the relationship between the association and its members because it's a taboo for members to disrespect the present government of naas.
Sincerely speaking, I discovered *Naas* can't move on smoothly if the issues on ground is not given adequate attention hence the reason I'm here to address you on key critical subject. The first, is to educate you more on where Naas is coming from, where we are and where we are going. Then, the second is consolidating *Naas* relationship with members. Before i go straight to details, permit me to introduce myself. I'm *Raymond Jebe(Flash)* the president of *NIgerian Artist Association(Naas)*
*Where We Are Coming From?*
Now let get down to business. My early inception into the music industry precisely in the year *2000;* gave me the vantage opportunity to take a critical look at some of the issues militating against upcoming artists. Amazingly, I discovered the music industry is running without a governing body or an association that set a standard, check and regulate the activities of music practitioners and stakeholders in the music industry. I see every dick and harry establishing business in the industry using artist works, making money & profits yet the artist is in abject poverty. I see that the music industry has been hijacked by individuals who play Gods to artists that without them you cant blow. I also see all over in the music industry scammers who because of the vulnerability of artist, device various tricks that forced artist out of the music industry by scamming them of their hard earn money in pretence to help them. This is the present structure of the music industry till date. I didn't see any positive thing coming out from this business model hence the idea to float the first association named *Upcoming Artist Association(UPCAAN).* Under *upcaan,* I organized the association first project named: *Upcaan Artist Conference* in *2016*. The event was successful but unfortunately the association collapsed at an early stage due to lack of financial support. Couple of years later, haven seen that the issues militating against upcoming artist still continues in the music industry, I was forced to go back to the drawing board & came up with an idea to established another association which i named:
*Nigerian Artist Association* (abbreviated as N.A.A.S) is an organisation founded by *Raymond Jebe(Flash) in *2020* to guide, protect and promote the interest fresher, unsigned & independent artist in the west Africa nation of Nigeria.
*Where We Are*
I'm glad to inform you that two years on the lane, as the president of *Naas,* the first thing I did was to draft a contract between the association & members which is ready i.e *Naas Constitution.* Then to come together under one umbrella to chart a new course for the music industry, i established *Naas* government and inducted ten executives into the office of the *Naas Executive Council(NEC).* Trust me, Naas is here to exploits your talent and showcase it to the world as this is the key advantage to our success as an association that have you in its future plans. *Naas* value talents in all ramification and we are ready to go extra miles to see that your talent is discovered, nurtured & developed from scratch to the top. In that auspice, as a member, we expect you to start your membership registration, as we are about to start work only for registered members
*Where We Are Going*
As a matter of fact, to achieve my objectives & goals as the president of *Naas,* I discovered whatsoever I plan to do will not work if I didn't strengthen the relationship between my government and *Naas* members. Most of you who are new generation artist don't have experience as member of any association the reason you don't know the value of being a member of an association. An association is the governing body of the music industry established to set a standard of operations, check and regulate the activities of the music practitioners & stakeholders with the responsibility to guide, protect & promote artist interest in the music industry. When it comes to guidance, *Naas* will stay with member from scratch to the top. When it comes to protection, *Naas* will stand by members to free you from issues, challenges & problems. And when it comes to promoting your interest, *Naas* will be the medium for the world to hear your voice. In order words, if you are a registered member of *Naas,* the world have to hear your voice the reason my government decided to partner with *Green World Evolution* a Group of *Associations,* *Companies,* *Individuals* and *Organisations* involved in promoting the wellbeing of humanity and the universe to help *Naas* to showcase your talent potentials directly to those who are interested in your talent & creativity.
