A 17-year-old girl in the U.S., Brianne Cullen, was recently diagnosed with popcorn lung—a rare and irreversible lung disease—after va**ng for just three years. She started at 14 to cope with anxiety during lockdown, like so many teens did.
She was a cheerleader, seemingly healthy, until she suddenly couldn’t breathe at practice. Doctors discovered her lungs had been severely damaged by chemicals in v**e products, possibly including diacetyl—a known culprit linked to this disease.
Brianne’s life is forever changed. She now relies on an inhaler, and there’s no cure for what she has. Her mom had no idea she was va**ng.
💔 Whether you're a parent, friend, teacher, or teen: this could happen to someone you love.
Va**ng isn’t harmless. Let’s stop treating it like it is.
