It is with a heavy heart that we bîd fāîrewëll to Sommie, a vibrant and talented young woman who had so much potential. Just a month ago, she shared a post expressing her hopes that Nigeria's chāllenges would never touch her or her loved ones. Trāgicālly, her wōrst fëārs were realized at the young age of 29.

Sommie was a shining star in the beauty and legal industry, excelling as Miss World Tourism Nigeria, a brand ambassador for Darling, and a skilled TV host. Despite being half Brîtish, she chose to make Nigeria her home, only to meet a trâgic end due to the state of îñsécûrity in the country.

The cycle of sèñselëss dëāths due to kîdñāpping, ārmëd röbbery, and other crimēs fueled by our fāiling gōvërnance is dishëārtening. Sommie's passing is yet another painful reminder of the ūrgëñt need for chäñge and jūstice in our society.

May she rest in peace and may her lëgāçy inspire positive change in Nigeria.
