Olowu hosts Wards, Pledges Dividends of Democracy...Counsels on Unity in our Society.
The Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ibeju-Lekki Area of Lagos State and the House of Assembly Hopeful in the 2023 general election, Hon.(Engr) Abiola Okanlawon Olowu (OKL), yesterday hosted Wards A,B,E & F of the Ibeju-Lekki State Constituency I, ahead of the party primary slated for next month.
Addressing members of the APC from the four wards, Engr.Olowu retrieated that he would keep to his promises to deliver the dividends of democracy to their door-step which he had been doing, even while in public service.
He remarked that fulfilling promises made by politicians while seeking for vote enhanced the credibility of leadership and raised the integrity of leader.
Olowu maintained that in times of difficulty, leaders would be measured by the promises kept while admonishing the people to be moderate in their expectations, saying that their could be no quick fixes to all burning challenges.
He said if given the mandate to represent the Constituency at the Lagos State House of Assembly, after primary and the general election, he would take urgent steps to return the constituency to its lost glory among the States House of Assembly in the areas of poverty reduction, women and youth empowerment, education, as well as infrastructural development.
The wards members in their appreciation were full of praises of Hon.(Engr) Olowu for his laudable projects to the people of the Constituency socially, economically, and politically, assuring him of their full support before, during and after the party primary at the 2023 general election saying that the "House of Assembly is no one House and if we have someone that has been there for three times and still agitating for more without substantial development, then it is not at the interest of the masses".
Speaking at the Ramadan public lecture which focused on unity, the sermon led by the Chairman, Council of Imams in Ibeju Lekki, Imam Abdul-Semiu Opeloyeru urged the populace to rededicate to tenets of responsible lives as preached in the Holy Quran & the lecture was intended to bring sanity to our society and positively affect lives, henced the need to reach out to people through the lecture was held at the residence of Hon.(Engr) Abiola Okanlawon Olowu (OKL) in Ibeju-Lekki.
The one day public lecture was well attended by the Islamic Clerics, Igbo Speaking Community led by their leader, Eze Chris Offia, APC starlwarts and members of the public within Ibeju-Lekki Area of Lagos State.
