A SUBURBAN LOVE STORy
RINGGGGGGG!!!!!!!...the loud noise disrupted her peaceful sleep.Her phone had been ringing but mercy decided not to pick up her phone.It was seven o clock in the morning and mercy had decided to rest for the weekend. RINGGGGGGG!!! . Her phone rang again and this time out of anger she grabbed her phone from her bed side table.. without checking who the caller was ,she yelled... " Yes...what do you want this early morning?" Mercy hissed then silenced followed from both ends.. "Hello " mercy decided to speak after a long silence,then she checked the caller ID and discovered it was an unknown number" look if you're thinking of scamming me this early morning,just..." "Mercy". Whether it was the soft ,low pitched deep tone voice that came at the other end or the fact the unknown caller knew her name, Mercy couldn't fathom why she froze at the spot as she couldn't find her voice. " Is this mercy?" The voice came again. " Yes this is mercy and who am I speaking with?" Mercy said as she modulated her voice. " Sorry I had to call this early...I know you might not remember me but we met at Kilimanjaro restaurant,the guy who offered to pay for your meal that day... I'm sorry I didn't call ...." The caller said and with the little introduction mercy suddenly remembered...only God knows how long she has waited for his call.At some point she allowed herself to believe he might have forgotten about her. She could remember that Tuesday after work when she has decided to eat at a restaurant. Regularly,mercy had always patronized the popular local eatery around Ikeja side in Lagos state called " imisi mama put" But this time, mercy decided to eat at a restaurant since her sister just wired her some money and that moment she felt loaded so it didn't matter to her If she try one of the restaurants around...
