PRESIDENT TINUBU ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT OF SERVICE CHIEFS, ADVISERS, COMPTROLLER GENERAL OF CUSTOMS, AND APPOINTS SUCCESSORS

In a significant development, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has authorized the immediate retirement of all Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, advisers, and the Comptroller-General of Customs. Simultaneously, their replacements have been appointed with immediate effect.

The newly appointed officers are as follows:

Mallam Nuhu Ribadu - National Security Adviser
Maj. Gen. C.G Musa - Chief of Defence Staff
Maj. Gen. T. A Lagbaja - Chief of Army Staff
Rear Admiral E. A Ogalla - Chief of Naval Staff
AVM H.B Abubakar - Chief of Air Staff
DIG Kayode Egbetokun - Acting Inspector-General of Police
Maj. Gen. EPA Undiandeye - Chief of Defense Intelligence
Furthermore, President Tinubu has approved the following appointments:

Col. Adebisi Onasanya - Brigade of Guards Commander
Lt. Col. Moshood Abiodun Yusuf - 7 Guards Battalion, Asokoro, Abuja
Lt. Col. Auwalu Baba Inuwa - 177 Guards Battalion, Keffi, Nasarawa State
Lt. Col. Mohammed J. Abdulkarim - 102 Guards Battalion, Suleja, Niger
Lt. Col. Olumide A. Akingbesote - 176 Guards Battalion, Gwagwalada, Abuja
Additionally, the President has appointed several military officers within the Presidential Villa, including:

Adedeji Adesola, the receptionist at Hilton Hotel in Ile-Ife, Osun state, has been sentenced to a two-year jail term for his involvement in the m***dr of Timothy Adegoke. Adesola was responsible for lodging Adegoke into the hotel. The owner of the hotel, Dr Rahman Adedoyin, along with five other workers, including the manager and checker of the hotel, were also on trial.
Adedoyin, Aderogba, and Kazeem were found guilty of mu**dr and other charges and were sentenced to d**th by hanging for their involvement in the unlawful k***ng of Adegoke. However, the sentencing for Adesola was adjourned until Wednesday to consider the arguments presented by both the defense and prosecution counsels.
The defense counsel pleaded for leniency, highlighting Adesola's role in uncovering hidden links related to the crime. Taking all factors into account, Chief Justice Oyebola Ojo sentenced Adesola to two years imprisonment, considering her counsel's allocution statement, the prosecution's submission, and the circumstances surrounding the case.
Justice Ojo acknowledged Adesola's demeanor during the trial and the provision of Section 411 (2b)(3) of the law, which influenced the decision. The sentence is set to commence from the first day of Adesola's arrest.
