The Yobe State Government has inaugurated a standing committee on tree planting and environmental hazards as part of efforts to combat climate change and restore the ecosystem. The Nigeria Forest and Security Service (NFSS), Kano State Command, says it received 149 crime-related complaints in July. The command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Usman Umar, disclosed this in an interview with Voice of the People (VOP) on Friday in Kano. According to him, the figure marks a sharp increase from the 83 complaints recorded in June. He explained that the NFSS remains committed to its mandate of preventing and detecting crimes, as well as tackling illegal activities within the forests....

The Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) has sealed 486 pharmaceutical premises in Niger State for various regulatory infractions. Dr. Suleiman Ciroma, Head of Enforcement at PCN headquarters, disclosed this on Friday in Minna while briefing journalists at the council’s North Central Zonal Office. According to him, the affected premises included 69 pharmacies, 127 patent medicine shops, and 290 unlicensed outlets. One individual was also arrested for allegedly obstructing inspectors during the exercise and will face prosecution....
