Do you know that only 35% of the Dry catFish that you buy in the market are flesh, the remaining 65% are skins, bones and the head part of the fish?
That is why we at Tikifish farm and smokehouse, we’ve decided to debone our dry fish and give our customers only the fleshy part of the fish because majority of our customers are outside the country and they pay huge amount of money for shipping dry fish, so it doesn’t worth it to be paying for 65% of a Dry catFish that are mostly bones, head parts and skins
Under normal circumstances, the 65% should go back to the feed mill for animal feeds production but as many homes cannot afford to buy quality smoked fish because of the high cost of fish due to high production cost, hence they’re forced to be buying these part of the fish.
