😂😂 This life no balance sometimes!

Carry umbrella ☂️ — no rain.
Leave umbrella at home 🚶‍♀️ — heavy rain starts immediately. 🌧️

At this point, I think the weather is watching us! 😅

Who else can relate? Drop a 😂 if this has happened to you before.

😂 Life can be funny sometimes!

Be honest…

How many times has this happened to you? And what other things happen only when you’re not prepared? 😅👇🥰🥰

✨GOOSE VS DUCK : DETAILED DIFFERENCES👇🏻✨

1. BODY SIZE:

Goose:

* They are generally much larger than ducks.
* They have bigger bodies and can weigh between 2–9 kg or more depending on the breed.
* They look taller and more powerful.

DUCK:

* Ducks are usually smaller and lighter.
* Most domestic ducks weigh between 1–5 kg.
* Their bodies appear shorter and more compact.

Easy way to remember:
A goose looks like the “big brother” of a duck.

2. NECK LENGHT:

GOOSE;

* Has a long, slender neck.
* The neck helps it reach grass and plants while feeding.

DUCK;

* Has a much shorter neck.
* Looks rounder and more compact.

Quick identification:
If you see a water bird with a long neck, it is likely a goose.

3. SOUND THEY MAKE:

GOOSE;

* Makes a loud “honk, honk” sound.
* Their calls can be heard from a long distance.

DUCK;

* Makes a “quack, quack” sound.
* Usually softer than a goose’s call.

Simple clue:
Honking = Goose
Quacking = Duck

4. PERSONALITY AND BEHAVIOR:

GOOSE;

* More protective and territorial.
* Can become aggressive when protecting their young.
* Often used as natural “guard birds” because they alert people when strangers approach.

DUCK;

* Usually friendlier and calmer.
* Less aggressive.
* More comfortable around people.

5. FEEDING HABITS:

GOOSE;

* Mainly eats grass, leaves, seeds, and other plants.
* Grazes like a small cow in fields.

DUCK;

* Eats plants, insects, worms, snails, and small aquatic animals.
* Often searches for food in water.

6. SWIMMING STYLE:

GOOSE;

* Excellent swimmers.
* Tend to swim gracefully and confidently.

DUCK;

* Also excellent swimmers.
* Often dive or dip their heads underwater while feeding.

7. FLYING ABILITY

GOOSE;

* Many species are strong long-distance migratory flyers.
* Fly in the famous V-shaped formation.

DUCK;

* Many species migrate too, but they usually fly in looser groups.
* Generally smaller and faster in flight.

8. EGGS:

GOOSE EGGS;

* Larger in size.
* Have thicker shells.
* One goose egg can be much bigger than a chicken egg.

DUCK EGGS;

* Smaller than goose eggs.
* Still larger than many chicken eggs.
* Popular in some countries for cooking and baking.

9. APPEARANCE OF THE BILL(BEAK):

GOOSE ;

* Usually has a larger and stronger bill.
* Designed for pulling grass and plants.

Duck;

* Has a flatter, broader bill.
* Useful for filtering food from water.

10. FAMILY LIFE:

GOOSE;

* Often forms strong pair bonds.
* Many geese stay with the same mate for years, sometimes for life.

DUCK:

* Pair bonds are usually less permanent.
* Different duck species have different mating habits.

✨SIMPLE SUMMARY ✨👇🏻

Imagine a duck and then imagine a larger version with a much longer neck, a louder voice, and a stronger protective instinct—that is a goose.

A duck is generally smaller, shorter-necked, and quacks, while a goose is larger, longer-necked, and honks.

Both are wonderful water birds, but once you notice the size, neck length, and sounds they make, telling them apart becomes very easy. 😊🐦🦆🪿

👉🏻ONE-SENTENCE SUMMARY👇🏻

A GOOSE is larger, longer-necked, louder, and more protective, while a DUCK is smaller, shorter-necked, friendlier, and more commonly seen swimming and quacking. 🪿🦆

✨STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE ON HOW TO MAKE AKARA (BEAN CAKE) AT HOME ✨👇🏻

Akara (bean cake) can be very nutritious, soft inside, and crispy outside when prepared properly. Here is a simple step-by-step guide using a normal household blender.

Ingredients

* 2 cups beans (brown or white beans)
* 1 medium onion
* 2–4 fresh peppers (optional)
* Salt to taste
* Water (for blending)
* Vegetable oil for frying

Step 1: Pick and Wash the Beans

* Remove stones, dirt, and bad beans.
* Wash thoroughly.

Step 2: Remove the Bean Skin

* Soak the beans in water for about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
* Rub the beans between your palms to loosen the skin.
* Add water and pour off the floating skins.
* Repeat until most of the skins are removed.
* Rinse well.

Step 3: Blend the Beans

* Put the peeled beans into your blender.
* Add onion and pepper.
* Add only a small amount of water at a time.
* Blend until very smooth and thick. The batter should not be watery.

Step 4: Whip the Batter

* Pour the blended mixture into a bowl.
* Add salt.
* Use a spoon, whisk, or hand mixer to stir vigorously for 5–10 minutes.
* This incorporates air and helps the akara become fluffy and light.

Step 5: Heat the Oil

* Pour oil into a deep frying pan or pot.
* Heat on medium heat.
* To test, drop a little batter into the oil. If it rises gently to the top, the oil is ready.

Step 6: Fry the Akara

* Scoop small portions of batter with a spoon.
* Carefully drop them into the hot oil.
* Do not overcrowd the pan.
* Fry until golden brown on one side.
* Turn and fry the other side.

Step 7: Remove and Drain

* Remove the akara when golden brown.
* Place on a tray lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.

Tips for Very Soft and Fluffy Akara

✅ Use freshly peeled beans.

✅ Blend with as little water as possible.

✅ Whip the batter well before frying.

✅ Add enough onion for flavor and softness.

✅ Fry on medium heat—not too hot and not too low.

To Make It More Nutritious

You can add:

* A small piece of bell pepper (tatashe)
* Crayfish powder
* Finely chopped scent leaves or ugu leaves
* A little blended fish

These additions increase the protein, vitamins, and flavor.

Serving Ideas

Akara can be enjoyed with:

* Pap (akamu/ogi)
* Bread
* Custard
* Garri
* Oats porridge

The secret to truly delicious akara is a smooth thick batter, thorough whipping, and frying at the right temperature. This gives you akara that is crispy outside, fluffy inside, and full of flavor. 😊
