BREAKING NEWS:Anambra State Nigeria Police Arrested Five, Drugs and Fake $100 Note.

The Anambra state police commander has arrested five suspects members of a criminal network and recovered suspected illegal drugs worth N1.45 million, a counterfeit US$100 notes, vandals electrical wires and N72,550 in cash. The arrest were made Area, on Thursday, August 20, 2026.

Police operatives attacked to the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, carried out the operation at about 12:48pm at a suspected criminal hideout. The five suspects, all male were identified as Omogo Obinna, 29, Okechukwu Nwagba, 28, Echezona Okonkwo, 29, Awal Amar, 23, and Ogadinma Boniface, 33.

Items recovered including substance suspect to be Cannabis India H**p, sativa, Canadian loud, Black Mamba, Colorado and loud, alongside vandalised electrical wires, cash and the suspected counterfeit US$100 note. Police said preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect were numbers of criminal network operating in the area.

The suspect have reportedly made statements to investigators and provided information on other alleged members of the network commissioner of police Ananna Oji Ama directed that the investigation be conducted thoroughly and ordered intensified efforts to apprehend other fleeing suspects.
