BREAKING: Tinubu Orders the Withdrawal of Police Officers Guarding VIPS for Core Police Duties

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the withdrawal of police officers currently providing security for Very Important Persons in the country.

A statement signed by the President's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga and obtained by Korle Reports reveals that the decision is aimed at improving core policing responsibilities in the country.

COUNCILLOR EXPRESS DISMAY AT WATER TANK COLLAPSE AS AGENCY REINFORCES SECURITY SURVEILLANCE ACROSS FACILITIES.

The Deputy Leader of the Eleme 10th legislative Assembly and Councillor representing Ebubu in Eleme Local Government Area, Amejima Obo Olako has expressed total dismay at the collapse of the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP) water tank in Ebubu, Saturday morning describing the incident as unfortunate.

Speaking with Korle Reports, he however expressed confidence in the Authority of HYPREP to restore the facility in the shortest possible time while also calling on them to ensure that a thorough investigation is carried out to ascertain the root cause of the collapse and forestall the reoccurrence of further incidents.

Meanwhile, HYPREP Project Coordinator, Prof. Neenibarini Zabbey through the Head of Communications, Enuolare Mba-Nwigoh has instructed the Chief Security Officer of the agency to improve security surveillance around the agency's facilities across Ogoni land. In a press statement released and signed by Enuolare Mba-Nwigoh, Head of Communications, the agency appealed for public calm stating that its Technical Services team led by Prof. Damian-Paul on the directives of the Project Coordinator has visited the place and cordoned off the affected area for public safety.

You will recall that this is the second HYPREP water tank collapsing within a month in Ogoni with the first being recorded in Gwara, Khana Local Government Area four days after commissioning.

NIGER DELTA ENVIRONTALIST ADVISES RIVERS GOVERNOR ON THE NEED FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE.

Niger Delta renowned Environmental Activist, Celestine Akpobari has advised Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara to focus on good governance in appreciating Rivers electorates for their unwavering support to his administration.

The former Khana Council Chairman also asked the Governor to envision transforming Rivers State from a one city State to multiple cities by developing the tourist attraction potentials in the Rivers South-East Senatrial District and other parts of the State.

He lamented the use of Rivers resources in pursuit of national politics by former Governors and advised Governor Fubara not to tread such paths treaded by his predecessors.

GOV. FUBARA GIVES HINT ON WHAT AWAITS DUBIOUS PERMANENT SECRETARIES.

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has hinted that Permanent Secretaries who aided and abated illegality during the six months emergency rule in the state will soon face consequences.

The Governor gave this hint during the swearing-in ceremony of the new Permanent Secretary, Austin Ezekiel-Hart, at the Government House on Friday. Governor Fubara commended the new appointee for his uprightness and charged him to remain upright.

Governor Fubara further directed the Head of Service to assign the new Permanent Secretary to his role immediately.

RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT DISSOLVES BOARD OF MICROFINANCE AGENCY, APPOINTS NEW ACTING MD.

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has announced the dissolution of the Board of the Micrfinance Agency and immediate appointment of Pastor Jonathan Tobin as the agency's Acting Managing Director.

A statement signed by the Head of service, Dr. Mrs. Inyingi Brown says that members of the defunct board are to handover all board properties in their possession to the newly appointed Acting Managing Director.

The statement further assured that the Governor will in due course reconstitute the board.

GOVERNMENT SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT.

The Executive Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara GSSRS has approved the immediate dissolution of the Rivers State Pensions Board.

Consequently, the Office of the Accountant General of Rivers State henceforth, will handle the functions of the Board.

Members of the defunct board are by this notice advised to hand over all properties and assets of the board in their possession to the Director of Administration of the Board.

His Excellency, the Executive Governor will in due course constitute a new board to manage the affairs of Pensions.

Rivers SOLAD Appoints Administrators For 23 LGAs, Reconstitute RSIEC.

The Rivers State Sole Administrator, Rtd. Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas has appointed 23 Administrators for the 23 LGAs in the state.

A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika also saw the reconstitution of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission. The statement said all appointments takes effect from Monday April 7, 2025.

Some Rivers people are already questioning the legality behind the actions of the Sole Administrator and neutrality of the appointees in the ongoing political debacles in the State.

Revered Ogoni Monarch, Gbenemene and Kasimene of Bangha, His Imperial Majesty, King Dr. Suanu Baridam has advised youths from Ogoni against abusing leaders on social media. The Monarch gave the advice following a series of social media abuses thrown at political leaders by followers in reaction to the political debacles bedeviling Rivers State.

King Baridam further advised young people to get into meaningful ventures to develop themselves for family and societal benefits rather than engaging in meaningless social media abuses.

Court Adjourns Murder Trial Against Twelve Suspects To Dec 4, 2024.

Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has adjourned the murder case involving twelve suspects accused of killing a female Inspector, Christiana Erekere, at the Taabaa Police station Checkpoint in Rivers State to December 4th 2024 for continuation of hearing.

America's 47th President-elect Donald Trump has appointed billionaire Techpreneur and CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk and Vivkek Ramaswamy founder of Roivant Sciences to lead the Department Of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

The duo's appointments is to assist Trump execute his administration to dismantle government bureaucracy, cut wasteful expenditures and restructure federal agencies essential to the 'Save America Movement'.

This information was contained in a statement by Trump on Tuesday, November 12.
