Learn to mind your business. Not every “How are you?” is necessary o!
So one day, I was chilling at a shop, handling some things, when this woman walked by.
A man standing nearby turned to his wife and said,
“Ah ah, see that woman? It’s been ages since I saw her!”
Wife looked at him and replied,
“Better face your front. Don’t go and greet her o. If you ask her anything and it leads to expenses, na your pocket e go touch.”
But did the man listen? No. Village people whispered “greet her” in his ear.
So he called out,
Man: “Hello Chi!”
Woman: “Ah, Oga! Longest time!”
Man: “How are you?”
Woman: “I’m fine o, just that I lost my mum...”
Man: “Chai… sorry o.”
She walked away.
Now the man in the picture calculating how to go and pay condolences - rice or envelope, or both. 😩
His wife just looked at him, shook her head slowly like a prophetess, and said,
“I warned you.” 😂😂
Moral of the story:
Before you ask “How are you?” in this economy, make sure you have emotional and financial strength. 😭
