“Our Mates are still in Captivity” —FUG Students Bewail

By Usman Yakubu Usman

The Students of Federal University Gusau, (FUG) have lamented bitterly over some of their mates who are still suffering in the hands of terrorists, since 23rd September, 2023 that they were kidnapped.

Many of the students expressed their concern on the prolonged silence that trails the incident for weeks.

Recall that 20 students alongside 4 other workers were kidnapped in Sabon Gida village, Bangudu Local government, on Friday 23rd September 2023 in the university, when the terrorists invaded the school.

According to a report by the Nigerian Tribune, published on 20th October, 2023, the school management confirmed the freedom of 14 students of the university and two others.

It was gathered that in the first attack, some were rescued while others escaped and the numbers of the freed ones revealed by the national dailies does not complete the total numbers of the abducted students.

Speaking with one of the escaped students, a 100 level student from the Department of Physics at the university who pleaded anonymity, said that she escaped in day time with others, but not sure of their exact numbers.

“I escaped from the hideout around 2 o'clock in the afternoon. I did not spend much time there.

"Although, I don't know how many of us because everyone was on his own,” she recalled.

Students Lament Over Long Silence

Some aggrieved students from the university has lamented over the silence hovering the whole situation.

According to them, aside the security efforts in the beginning, for some weeks now, there has been no statement revealed over the issue.

During an interview with this reporter, Abdulrahman, a 200-Level student of Computer Science department from the University said “From what we've heard, the security relentlessly searched for them throughout the forest and even made a camp near the forest.

“Though the government tried, but for over some weeks now, there is no word

The Aghori Babas, who live in the city of Varanasi, India, are famous for eating the dead. They believe that the greatest fear human beings have is the fear of their own deaths and that this fear is a barrier to spiritual enlightenment.

This mysterious tribe is known for their disturbing nature to eat anything. They live in cemeteries and feast on human flesh as part of their rituals. They will also eat rotten food, putrefied garbage, and even excreta such as human faeces or urine.

Most times, these items are consumed out of a human skull bowl or some other dish made from human bones. To an Aghori, eating garbage is all the same as eating anything else.
