Hon. Musa Ali Sakwa described June 12 as a historic day that symbolizes the sacrifices made by patriotic Nigerians in their struggle for democratic governance. He noted that the day serves as a reminder of the nation’s unwavering commitment to freedom, justice, equality, and the rule of law.

He emphasized that democracy remains the foundation of national development and unity, providing citizens with the opportunity to participate actively in shaping the future of their communities and the nation at large. According to him, democratic governance thrives when leaders are accountable and responsive to the needs of the people.

As a true democrat and grassroots-oriented leader, Hon. Musa Ali Sakwa reaffirmed his belief that democracy is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. He stressed that the voices, aspirations, and welfare of citizens must always remain at the center of governance.

He commended the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, Deputy Governor Umar Usman Kadafur, and other leaders who continue to strengthen democratic institutions and promote good governance across Nigeria and Borno State.

If you were in Bello El-Rufai's position, what would you do?

Bello El-Rufai, the son of former Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, served as a Special Legislative Aide (SLA) under Governor Uba Sani for about four years. Today, a serious disagreement exists between his father and Governor Uba Sani, to the extent that reconciliation has proven difficult.

Despite the conflict, Bello has demonstrated remarkable maturity and restraint. He understands that Governor Uba Sani once mentored and supported him, and therefore refuses to insult or disrespect him, regardless of their political differences. Such self-control is rare in today's political environment.

At the same time, Bello has chosen to stand by his father, offering him support and defending him when necessary.
