Right in front of University of Jos today, lives were treated like they meant nothing and that should shake every one of us.

This is a direct call to the Plateau State Government: students are not disposable. They came to learn, not to live in fear or witness v!olence at their doorstep.

UNIJOS students deserve real protection, not silence. Act now before another life is lost.

That post by Dami Foreign might look funny, but it’s actually a p∆inful reflection of a bigger truth.
“After NYSC, what next?” is not supposed to be a joke, it’s supposed to have clear answers.

But in Nigeria today, thousands of young graduates finish National Youth Service Corps and are immediately thrown into c0nfusi0n. No structured transition. No job pipeline. No real support system.

The system basically says: “Serve your country for one year
then figure out life on your own.”

And that’s where the real pr0blem is.

A government that cannot create opportunities for its youth is indirectly creating frustrati0n, depressi0n, and w∆sted potential.

These are young people who did everything right went to school, served their country yet they’re left asking the most basic question: what next?

It’s not that Nigerians are lazy. It’s not that graduates are not skilled.

It’s that the system is not working.

Instead of investing heavily in job creation, entrepreneurship support, and industry development, we see more attention on politics than on people’s future.
That “c0nfused NYSC corper” in the picture? That’s not just comedy that’s the reality of millions.

Until we fix this, the jokes will keep coming
But behind every laugh is a generation quietly worried about their future.

It is deeply tr0ubling that Caleb Mutfwang chose to visit aff∆cted communities in Plateau State in an armored tank, at a time when the very people he governs cannot even guarantee their own basic s∆fety.

The real issue is not just the symbolism it is the p∆inful contrast. While leaders move around with heavy protection, the ordinary citizens they serve are left completely exposed.

These are farmers, families, and children who sleep every night without s€curity, without defense, and without any form of armored pr0tection.

They cannot afford tanks. They cannot shield themselves from bull€ts. Yet they are the ones facing the brunt of these att∆cks.

What message does it send when a governor arrives in full protection to console people who have none? It highlights a h∆rsh reality: the gap between those in power and the vulnerable citizens they are meant to pr0tect is widening.

The concern should not be how secure the governor is but how uns∆fe the people are.

If armored tanks are necessary for leaders to feel safe, then it is clear that the situation on ground is far w0rse for ordinary citizens who have no such option.

True leadership should focus on making the people feel safe, not just ensuring the safety of those in power. Until every citizen in Plateau can sleep without f€ar, displays of personal security by leaders will only deepen the frustr∆tion and sense of aband0nment among the people.

It is deeply tr0ubling and unacceptable that the recent k!ll!ngs in Kwara State have not received the level of urgency, visibility, and decisive response that such a tr∆gic situation demands. At a time when lives are being l0st and families are thrown into gr!ef and uncertainty, the silence or at best, a slow and insufficient reaction from the state leadership raises serious concerns.

AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, leadership is not only about development projects and public appearances; it is, first and foremost, about protecting the lives and security of the people. When citizens begin to feel uns∆fe in their own communities, it becomes a direct reflection of a gap in governance that cannot be ignored or downplayed.

The people of Kwara deserve to see urgency. They deserve to hear clear communication. They deserve to witness concrete actions being taken to prevent further l0ss of l!ves.

This is not a time for quiet diplomacy or delayed statements it is a time for bold, visible, and effective leadership. Every moment of silence or inaction only deepens fear and erodes public trust in the government.

Beyond c0nd0lences, there must be a comprehensive response: increased security presence in ∆ffected areas, proper investigation into the incidents, accountability for those responsible, and transparent updates to reassure the public that their s∆fety is a priority.

Anything short of this sends the wrong message that the lives lost do not command the seriousness they deserve.

Kwara is known as a peaceful state, and that reputation must be pr0tected not just in words but through action.

The government must rise to this challenge and demonstrate that it is fully committed to safeguarding its people. The citizens are watching, and history will remember how this moment was handled.

Now more than ever, the people of Kwara State need to see leadership that is present, proactive, and accountable.
