It is deeply tr0ubling and unacceptable that the recent k!ll!ngs in Kwara State have not received the level of urgency, visibility, and decisive response that such a trâgic situation demands. At a time when lives are being l0st and families are thrown into gr!ef and uncertainty, the silence or at best, a slow and insufficient reaction from the state leadership raises serious concerns.
AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, leadership is not only about development projects and public appearances; it is, first and foremost, about protecting the lives and security of the people. When citizens begin to feel unsâfe in their own communities, it becomes a direct reflection of a gap in governance that cannot be ignored or downplayed.
The people of Kwara deserve to see urgency. They deserve to hear clear communication. They deserve to witness concrete actions being taken to prevent further l0ss of l!ves.
This is not a time for quiet diplomacy or delayed statements it is a time for bold, visible, and effective leadership. Every moment of silence or inaction only deepens fear and erodes public trust in the government.
Beyond c0nd0lences, there must be a comprehensive response: increased security presence in âffected areas, proper investigation into the incidents, accountability for those responsible, and transparent updates to reassure the public that their sâfety is a priority.
Anything short of this sends the wrong message that the lives lost do not command the seriousness they deserve.
Kwara is known as a peaceful state, and that reputation must be pr0tected not just in words but through action.
The government must rise to this challenge and demonstrate that it is fully committed to safeguarding its people. The citizens are watching, and history will remember how this moment was handled.
Now more than ever, the people of Kwara State need to see leadership that is present, proactive, and accountable.
