Syringe Sizes Every Healthcare Worker Should Know
✅ 1 mL (Tuberculin syringe) – For small, accurate doses like insulin (special insulin syringes are also used), vaccines, and pediatric medications.
✅ 2 mL – Small IV or IM medications.
✅ 3 mL – The most commonly used syringe for injections.
✅ 5 mL – For larger medication doses and flushing IV lines.
✅ 10 mL – IV flushing, blood collection, and larger medication volumes.
✅ 20 mL – Wound irrigation, feeding tubes, and larger flushes.
✅ 30 mL – Enteral (feeding) medications and irrigation.
✅ 50–60 mL (Catheter-tip syringe) – Tube feeding, bladder irrigation, and wound irrigation.
