Those who called themselves kiriyo today were called The Way/Nazarenes in their book.
Why?
Because they were still keeping to the laws of Moses while still following Yahusha (whom you now know as JC).
That's why the Roman leadership had issues with them.
In your book of Act, there were two factions, those who were jews who still kept to the Torah and the jewish culture yet followed the Mashiach (known as The Way/Nazarenes) and those who were Roman converts or non Jewish (these were the sect that went to Antioch and were called kiriyo).
The Nazarenes sect went underground while the kiriyo was assimilated into the Roman governance because it allowed the Roman culture.
The Nazarene version is what they practice in Ethiopia to date, different from the "ROMAN" CATHOLICS.
Note the word Roman.
The Roman version were those that came to colonize you in the name of JC.
