U.S. Strikes Iran Again, Hits Launchers Near Strait of Hormuz

The United States has carried out a fresh military strike against Iran, hitting two Iranian launchers on Larak Island near the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

According to a U.S. official, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces were preparing to launch rockets carrying sea mines into the waterway. The strike comes shortly after U.S. forces completed a mine-clearing operation aimed at reopening key international shipping routes.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard has reported deaths and injuries and warned that the United States will face retaliation. The development marks a major escalation in the continuing U.S.-Iran confrontation and raises fresh concerns about the security of global energy shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.

Nepal Says It Needs Technical Help, Not Foreign Rescue Teams After Deadly Flood

Nepal is facing a massive humanitarian and reconstruction crisis after a devastating glacier-related flood swept through Himalayan communities, killing at least 669 people in Nepal and seven in Tibet, with nearly 3,000 people still missing.

Search-and-rescue operations have resumed, but Nepal says it does not need foreign teams to conduct basic rescue operations. Instead, the government is seeking international assistance in specialized technical areas, including infrastructure restoration, forensic identification, communications, transport and other complex recovery operations.

Nepal's Finance Minister estimates that rebuilding damaged infrastructure could cost between $4 billion and $5 billion, underlining the enormous economic impact of the disaster.
