Prof. Wasiu Babalola Elected Chairman of National Tourism Standards Committee; Mrs. Kehinde Daniel Emerges Vice Chairperson

Professor Wasiu Babalola, distinguished hotelier, professor of hotel management and tourism from Atiba University, and Immediate Past Regional Chairman for Institute of Hospitality, UK-Nigeria, was unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Committee.

In the same session, Mrs. Kehinde Daniel, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Kots Catering Ltd and Past Regional Chairperson of the Institute of Hospitality (UK–Nigeria), was elected as Vice Chairperson.

In his acceptance speech, Prof. Babalola expressed his appreciation for the confidence reposed in him and underscored the strategic importance of the committee’s work. “Every great nation is built on the standards it upholds. Today, we accept the call to raise the standards of Nigerian tourism, not just for ourselves, but for generations to come,” he said.

Tension erupted on Tuesday during a meeting of prince's in Ipetumodu, Osun State, after a call was made for Governor Ademola Adeleke to declare the stool of the Apetumodu vacant following the conviction of Oba Joseph Oloyede in the United States.

The controversy follows the conviction of Oba Joseph Oloyede, the 27th Apetumodu of Ipetumodu, Osun state who was recently sentenced in the United States to more than four years in prison over COVID-19 loan fraud.

The monarch was also ordered to forfeit assets and pay over $4.4 million in restitution.

Lengthy But Worth Reading

A Primary School teacher ask her students to write an Essay about what they would like God to do for them.

At the end of the day, while marking the Essays, she read one that made her so emotional.

Her husband, who had just walked in, saw her crying and asked her: 'What happened?'
She answered: 'Read this. It is one of my student's Essay.'

''Oh God, tonight I ask you for something very special: Turn me into a Television or a Mobile Phone. I want to take its place and live like the TV/Phone in my house. I want to have my own special place, and have my family around me.

To be taken seriously when I talk. I want to be the center of attention and be heard without interruptions or questions.
I want to receive the same special care that the phone and TV receives even when it is not working.

Have the company of my dad when he arrives home from work, even when he is tired.
And I want to be like my mum phone, so that my mom want me when she is sad and upset, instead of ignoring me.

And ... I want my siblings to fight to be with me ...
I want to feel that family just leaves everything aside, every now and then, just to spend some time with me.
And last but not the least, ensure that I can make them all happy and entertain them. Lord I don't ask you for much. I just want to live like a phone or TV.'

At that moment the husband said: 'My God, poor kid. What a horrible parent?

The wife looked up at him and said: 'That essay is from Jacob, our son!

NB: Spending time with our loved ones matters a lot, even if its 5/10min a day!
